play as a female

i wonder if it's possible to play as a female character? I think it would add immersion for me to play my own gender. But I assume that this franchise is originally having a male POV and ofcourse that is okay. I might buy it still.. But I really would like if you have the option to choose to play as a female or male character.

Very unlikely. The developer has not talked about any character customization options, the older games had no character customization options, and nobody who has had an opportunity to play it at a convention or in GSC studios has said anything about character customization.

Conclusion: There is NO character customization (which is exactly in-line with the older games), including no ability to choose a female protagonist

According to what I've seen the game will have modding support so you will be able to add a female MC via a mod at some point in the future. If someone makes one of course.

The "old" Stalker trilogy have mods to make the protagonist playable as a woman. Will probably be an updated version available for Stalker 2 in a not so far future.

I hear in the Day Two patch you can play as a Mi-24 Hind, the Day Three patch will also let you play as a Mi-28 Havok. Beyond that? who knows.

Given that gameplay footage appears to show at least one woman in the zone (a trader or technician), I think you should prepare yourself for the shocking revelation that in fact, there are women in the Zone.

I wish more people were this friendly and reasonable when it comes to gender options in games. The way some people have a freaking temper tantrum if they can't play as a guy/gal is sort of sad.
