Why does water/mud slow you down so much?
I've tried walking through water only to be slowed down to a crawl even when sprinting. Sometimes it didn't even feel like I was moving at all. Even if the idea is that your feet are stuck in mud, IMO it slows you down too much.

So that people can get defensive when other humans and diseased dogs essentially sprint through it once the 'realistic challenge' claims falls flat.

Ever tried "sprinting" in waist high water? Try it some time. Let us know how fast you can go ;)

"Why does water/mud slow you down so much?"

You ever walked through water/mud in real life? That's what it does, especially if you're carrying a lot of heavy equipment and guns.

Why can't I jump 40 feet up in the air? Uhm, gravity perhaps? Daaamn.

IMO, even if it's "realistic", it isn't good gameplay design.

You ever tried walking in shallow water? Mixed with mud?
With maybe 50-60 kilos of stuff in your huge backpack?
Yeah, that's why. :)

Stop being so dense guys. The slowdown mechanic is poorly done. Wading in water doesn't work like that, your head is not locked in a direction when you're walking in the mud neither.
and your movement speed is not slowed by 99.90% when you're knee deep in any liquid.
Stop coping and start aknowledging how stupidly done some features truly are in this game.
I'm all for realism and actual wading mechanics, but the one in S2 got to be the most frustratingly stupid I've ever seen.

Wait until you get into water above your head.
Fun times

its an open world game, its a very common design function to restrict where you can go
