Why does time pass so quickly in the game? I often can't tell whether it's day or night.
And also, why is it always raining? It's too frequent.

The passage and alternation of time in the game feels like it's speeding by every second. A full day in the game takes about 30 minutes to complete, not even an hour—it's so overwhelming.

We had more comparative daylight time in the past with CoP, and for all the work they put into the environments it is a real shame they obscure it most of the time.

So even when you are willing to go out at night no problem, it is just awkward instead of tense. More so with my luck of having the sleepy debuff happen at sunrise. welp, time to sleep through the day again. maybe I'll get to enjoy the view later...

Night wouldn't be an issue if there was night vision.

The main reason I don't like the night in Stalker 2 is because it's too dark. I don't have a brighter flashlight or any night vision equipment, and that makes me feel frustrated and uncomfortable.

now this is the point , i agree ! truly .

It's deliberate isn't it?

I think the devs have said they have heard feedback about it being too quick. We'll see if they change it/add sliders or something.

I quite like the rainy days. And the windy days. The weather is quite well done imo.

I still hope they slow it down eventually. All the old games used a 1 to 10 ratio. They also had night vision which was a huge factor when picking and upgrading suits (and helmets in CoP).

Night Vision is in the game. Just try to fight any enemy at night.
You cant see them, but they can sure as hell see you as if it's daylight.
NPC's get NV, Stalkers dont.

Also love the rain moments. Also agree with others that time passage seems to be too fast. Flashlight that Skif has is definitely not a good one. Considering the top end military gear you get late game, it doesn't even make sense he keeps a penlight like that around instead of high end night vision and spotlight.

And there's also the thermal scope.
A quick google search tells me that today in Chornobyl, the sun will rise at ~8am and set at ~4pm. About 8 hours of sunlight. That's the reality the further you get from the equator. It's not 12 hours of light everywhere. Maybe it's because I live at a high enough latitude and it's winter, but I get it. That being said, the flashlight is garbage and I can't believe there's no NVG in game. Probably a similar decision to removing binoculars - hiding the horrendous spawn distance from the broken A-Life system.

Too bad they didn't nerf visibility for the NPCs as well. Yeah, there's a bit more darkness than light. There are valid complaints to be made. But to say you can't tell the difference between day and night? That's absurd. Are you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blind?

I can't speak to Ukrainian weather, but I assume the frequency of rain is also based on their local patterns. I believe the area has a lot of rainfall during the fall, when the game seems to be set.

There are mods to increase the length of the daytime if you want to do that.

Any time it's dark outside, I just find a bed and sleep. And yeah the day cycle is definitely too short, sometimes turning off the flashlight and letting the moonlight illuminate stuff is actually better.

I don't mind the dark so much as it makes the game much more atmospheric and gritty. There is much more of a horror feel when you rummage trough an abandoned factory or facility in the dark. We should have a better flashlight and a NV googles. I see NPC's sporting NV on their helmets, so while that may be only a cosmetics item on an NPC there is definitively a night vision in the game, yet not for the player.

However, yes, day/night cycle is definitively weird as i mostly find myself in the dark rather then the day. Weather is also somewhat weird as the damn rain is falling more often then not. Rain should be a random and rarer event, not almost a constant one.

I do enjoy Stalker 2. It does scratches that "Fallout" itch but without weird humor.
However with bad performance issues, bugs galore and what in some cases screams an unfinished title, i consider this game to be in early access.

bed and sleep , but when you go outside walk in the land , the dark will upon you quickly again , or ... its rainning and little dark .
