As an American, can someone tell me about the songs heard in-game - on the radios, etc.?
I don't speak the language, so I'm curious if they're topical or pertinent to the world of the game.

that would be called a Cover.

I recall hearing it once but dont recall which song it was. It was probably Grandma's Smuzi, locally well known heavy metal cover band in Ukraine.

I think my favorite radio station so far is the technician's garage in the first village.

In short, in general, the content of the tracks themselves is not related to the game, they are more suitable for the atmosphere. I'm currently listening to the playlist, there are quite a few tracks, so I'm not sure yet, maybe some of the tracks are related to the game world.

I dont have a clue about the majority of the music in game, but I have recognized an acoustic song by the Ukrainian symphonic/folk metal band Ignea, or more correctly I recognized the singers voice as shes rather distinctive. Their latest album is a concept album about a famous Ukrainian photojournalist named Sofia Yablonska from the 1930s and 40s. I guess that might qualify as pertinent to the world of the game.

There's also Ukrainian 'podcasts', one for cookery for sure, on the radio. The music is a real mix - I recognise a handful of the bands and their music because they're pretty contemporary. They're certainly not specific to the Stalker alternative timeline, but it's good music.

BTW you can play the guitar in the game, it has a lot more to it than I expected and it's not just some tacked on gimmicky thing:

It's pretty easy to describe them.

"bad"

I mean.. not much else to say. Sounded like nails on a chalkboard. I've never gone out of my way to turn off radios in a game. Thank god you can.

Regarding Ignea, I believe they have 2 albums in-game( Signs of faith and Realms of Fire and Death), a mix of Instrumental and Lyric-ed.
