They offer many useful advantages and I would say earyl game the ones that give you more carry weight are quite useful. Its hard to say which ones are the best when out of 40+hrs I ahve found at least 10-15 and none of them have been repeats lol

The top tier "legendary" artifacts in each class are very potent. Hypercube, Liquid Rock, but *especially* Compass and Thunderberry. Special ones generally come with unique downsides and benefits, but I won't spoil them.

Best early artifact is weird ball. which makes you bullet sponge if you are on hardest i highly recommend tho with each bullet taken the artifact gets more weight slowly decreases after combat.

Best in the early game is:

- Weird Ball. Reduces bullet damage when standing still. Can be found at Bulba anomaly, east of Zalissya.

- Bubble. Gives radio protection. Can be found at any acid anomaly. South and east of Zalissya, or the cave under the Old Mill. Random.

These 2 don't have radiation status effect so you can wear them all the time.

Weird Ball increases in weight up to 5 kg when you take damages. It converts your damage taken into weight, but will revert to its original weight overtime.

That's cool, I never thought secondary effects like that could actually be a thing. Guess I'll read artifacts description more carefully...

BTW I got super lucky and found a Liquid Rock at the poisonous pit in the Garbage

I am running with a hypercube in an isolated slot, a weird ball, the strange flower, and the last 2 are a rad reduction one to counter whatever I need in the last slot.

Seems with the ball and cube I can tank the suction, whirl, and glass anomalies with next to no damage. Easily stroll through bullets, etc.

Note that stacking multiple is somewhat pointless, since resists are capped. While looking for the 1 shot sniper damage to mod, I stumbled across a file that had the caps. Electric, corrosive, psi, and physical is 90%, radiation is 85%, and bleed and crush were 4.5f whatever that translates to. Carry weight 140. This is with all sources combined. Ie armor, food, artifact.

Side note, the radiation reducing ones dont seem to affect rad resist, but the rads on artifact. Example is slug with an artifact with weak radiation. 2 slug for 2 with weak rad or 2 slug for 1 with med rad to counteract negatives.

So if I have an armor with almost max physical def and equip a compass artifact then it will take almost no effect because of the cap?

Spoilers ahead. The Weird Water is amazing, it gives 40 carry weight and some radiation removing effect but makes you permanently drunk. I found it in the Wandering Lights psi anomaly in NE Zaton. In the middle near a rock

Any artifact, which amplifies endurance, maximum carrying weight or reducing radiation... anything else is just useless in my opniion.

Bleeding max resist from hypercube is quite good aswell. You barely ever bleed and if you do it stops on its own after one second or so.

Medium or higher radiation cancelling artifacts with medium or higher (match it or you gain rads and harm yourself) +carry capacity ones.
That's it. There are some novel ones like the weird ball that decreases bullet damage but makes you heavier, but the biggest problem in this game is the long distances with the atrocious stamina system, and how heavy most things are.
I'm 56 hours in. I got a med-med- combo as mentioned above, and it helps. Finding a SEVA-1 suit and its upgrade ( +10% carry cap) ALSO really helps. And it's only *now* tolerable lol.

Well true, but depending how I play, I only need mentioned 3 attributes... others are just for coupons.

I don't think it gives you the drunk effect unless you go over your basic weight limit. Still incredibly useful artefact though.

honestly most artefacts i dont keep i have kept a few in case i needed them but usually im wandering around anyways so im not running back to my stash box to load up on specific ones. ive found my best setup is with radiation reducing ones and ones that give radiation but increase weight capacity so i can carry more garbage to sell
