Why do zombies look and act nothing like zombies.
What's the point of adding "zombies" into a game if they can shoot guns and look no different than normal stalkers? The zombies seem completely pointless imo.

Stalker 2 zombies are disappointing. I prefer the zombies from the first.

Because as you pointed out, they're "zombies". They aren't your typical Romero or 28 Days Later zombies. They're unique to the STALKER franchise. Play the OG games to learn more about them.
i feel like so many of you just read the first thing you see and don't even bother to look at the thread and previous comments. Thank you for sharing basically the exact same thing the other "stalker vets" have and essentially wasting your time. The "zombies" make 0 sense. They're brain dead yet somehow retained all their military training.. Sure.
Correct. They still retain something of their past lives. And you're welcome.
They're brain dead only in higher functioning. As mentioned, they still retain muscle memory. They just can't reason.
Look up the brain scorcher.

These "Zombies" aren't undead, but people with a very reduced mental capacity. Basically, the human mind has been practically erased. No memories, no emotions, only the directive given by the last message left in their minds. Usually, that is the objective to kill. Kill what? Kill Whom? That's about it.

from the game that not true .. u can shoot their body , nade them and they will not die ..
only headshot will kill them .
that look like undead to me.

you clearly haven't seen the STALKER franchises lore and it shows

Because Zombie in STALKER world are not dead, they are Alive Stalker who are zombified, they don't want to eat anything, they just lost there 95% of their memory, they have reflex like shooting enemies and wanting to get some artefacts, like previous games they said "Wannt tooo geet artiefact ARTIFACCCCTTS" or crying to their moms; and in stalker Lore this is the worst fate to end up because you are 100% aware you are a zombie but can't do a thing exepect waiting to get killed by a stalker
Then they shouldn’t have pinpoint accuracy. So you’re telling me they forgot everything but how to walk, shoot, and apparently repair guns since their stuff never jams.
It is possible that whatever it is thats truly zombifying stalkers wants them to retain their ability to use weapons and may be enhancing their bodies to make them more durable, but it makes them slow practically braindead shamblers because it either doesn't want them wandering too far/ more likely may not have perfect control and has to go for a trade off of weapon ability for mobility and strategic thinking. Living weapons so to say. As for how their weapons seem to never jam, it could be explained as them being supplied by Monolith soldiers who themselves may be successful or perfect zombies lacking the same durability but maintaining fully functioning, if controlled, minds.
in eastern europe zombie has a second but widely used meaning of being heavily brainwashed or hypnotised, arguably this meaning is more widespread than synonym of "undead"
The “zombies” make 0 sense. They seem more like androids that track your movement and have pinpoint accuracy. Unless every “zombie” was apparently a scout sniper or something in their past life who just never missed a shot which I find highly unlikely. You guys are also implying everyone and every “zombie” has military training. There are tones of people who sneak into Chernobyl every year and have since the site went up that don’t have military training. The idea that only soldiers are going in there is pretty dumb.

zombies don't start shooting immediately, they need some time to get up and aggro at player.
also it is arguably easier to shoot with pinpoint accuracy if you don't fear for your life in combat situation. that's what zombies do. they aim and shoot

the original term was zombified stalkers. but they aren't the biting bleeding infected type,

its just a term for people's who've suffered near fatal amounts of psi radiation, their brains are destroyed and they're just shambling husks that can barely stand, but still know how to do basic actions like opening doors and using their weapons

based on the old voiceovers in the old games, its possible that the explanation is zombified stalkers are halleucinating whilst having fatal brain damage, they can still speak but its mumbled, they'll say things like "enemy!!!!" and then wildly fire at them.
They can barely stand but are walking miles in a wasteland, able to stick together, manage inventory, and fire with decent accuracy as well as know to reload and what ammo their guns need? Just seems all over the place. If they're "brain dead" they should be brain dead and essentially unable to do anything. Idk just seems an odd design choice that is all over the place like they're brain dead but can do essentially everything but talk..

you're just splitting hairs at this point

I do agree the accuracy is probably a bit overdone. But then again so is it for regular npc's too.

But to suggest that people would go into the zone without knowing how to handle a gun is ludicrous. Does it happen? Maybe. Is it likely? Probably not. People know how dangerous it is. Most people wouldn't go in there without knowing how to shoot. The ones that do probably don't live very long to become zombified stalkers in the first place. And of the ones that do, one imagines you eventually learn how to shoot from experience pretty quickly because you don't get very far in the zone without having to use a gun at some point.
c-con was increasing it ranks by brain washing stalkers into monolith fighters but some times the brain washing would fail so the ones who failed where programmed to still serve the monolith and kill anything that was not under c-cons control,

these people lost most of their minds due to damaging higher brain functions but leaving the lower functions alone, they are nothing but walking grunting monsters,

the mind is basically dead but the body keeps moving.
