Bike mod?
Here's a mod suggestion. How about a bicycle mod. The older games maps were broken up into smaller zones, making traveling on foot not as time consuming to get around, since the zones weren't all that big, relatively.
But in stalker 2, the entire world is a vast open map, with pretty much all the zones from the previous games meshed into one giant zone. Sure we got guides for fast travel, but they're at specific locations, and only go to other towns. A mod that adds in a bicycle for you to use to get around a bit quicker would be nice, since from what I've seen so far, people seem to have a big issue when it comes to someone asking about adding vehicles into a stalker game.
Bicycle makes sense IMO. They're leg powered, would work before and after an apocalypse, would be relatively common (We're talking about the zone, so maybe not as common as people would think). And it would be pretty funny to see someone ride a bike into an anomaly and have it explode into pieces.

i was thinking the same thing and the lada too would be a good idea(heck let's make it a mission)

Artifact protected and powered vehicles were plot points in the novels. Scrounging up an old Lada and retrofitting it in an abandoned garage would be very fitting. Bicycles on known safe paths would certainly be a thing, might even create story opportunities for trail-tenders who make sure the high traffic paths are clear of anomalies and build detours as needed.

You aint tellin me that in 15 years no one in the zone has figured out how to power a vehicle with an artifact.
They probably did. They probably didn't figure out a way to not explode with it.

Interesting and makes sense, specially if you consider the fact that the whole plot of Call or Pripyat happens because even if you map anomaly locations a single emission will move them to another area.

It's not like placing a sign that says, please do not park your anomaly here would work.

Want a lore reason why there's no bikes and the only vehicles are controlled by major factions?

Because gasoline has an expiry date and nobody is bringing more into the zone. They'd have to convert engines to biodeisel and even then, to what end exactly? Vehicles would only be valuable for moving materials and protecting workers/troops from small arms fire and mutants as they gathered materials or secured a location.

That's why specific factions use them in limited capacity, if they have access to mainland resources.

There's no lore reason for vehicles not being used by the STALKERs. Originals were supposed to have cars and a car level fyi.

It's only gameplay reasons. If you want a real lore reason it's because moving about the zone on a vehicle is probably just as dangerous as on foot. Far too many anomalies and ♥♥♥♥ roads. Some proper humvee action or bikes? Perfectly plausible, the military constantly trades with stalkers illegally anyway and mercs have their own sources as well, so external influence was obviously possible and plausible.

Supply though? Most likely not a problem. Maybe for the average loner or bandit, Freedom, Duty, Eggheads, Mercs especially etc. all have ample resources and could feasibly move gasoline inland.

Also, do you know how long it takes for gasoline to expire? About half a year, so expiry is most likely not a problem. Goods move in and out of the zone constantly, it's not like Fallout where there's 0 supply.

The recent Pacific Drive perfectly illustrates the dangers of driving in an anomalous zone, regular cars would be prone to... destructions, but like I said, quad bikes, offroad bikes, bicycles, or maybe even a proper offroader would have a field day.

Makes compete sense for cars not being a thing, it's not like anomalies would respect traffic laws and have the courtesy of not spawning on roads.

I could only see the military and their scientist to have the technology to map anomalies and even then I don't think it would be reliable.

But for sure it's not something your average loner would have access to.
