True but no matter how much i try i cant seem to spend all my shotgun ammo .... takes like 2-3 seconds to kill a bloodsucker when you spam 8 shotgun shells into its head.
I dont have a semi auto shotgun, yet. I have a pump one so thats not gonna happen for now.
Relode as soon as they turn away. I need around 6-10 shells. Still don't like to fight them if not needed.
Pirate software had a clip about this kind of mob design.
Enemies need to dip into 2 of 3 characteristics: Speed, Power, Health. If you have 2 out of 3, that's a good mob design, with an exploitable weakness. When they have all 3, that's not an enemy you're supposed to fight, it's supposed to be avoided.
In stalker 2, having no loot from mutants makes it even clearer that you're not supposed to fight them. The only problem with this is that the game is clearly not designed with this in mind. In Stalker you were always supposed to be prepared to fight mutants or suffer, but here you just suffer no matter what.
Bloodsuckers etc have balance issues for sure, but for now, simply keep distance when encounter them. You will not survive by advancing or standing still, instead back away and dodge left or right right before their attack, and you will take them down with less difficulty. Also, make sure to use the correct ammo for them.
That goes for a lot of mutants, and if you can find high ground, on a box or truck, you can just shoot them from safety. I've found cheesing the AI of Chimeras and Giants is the only way to actually deal with them since they take at least 8 full mags from most guns to kill and it's really tiring having to dodge them and heal while reloading.
