Attack pattern prediction.
Proper use of volumetric sound cues (you can hear the general direction of danger).
limiting angles of attack (willingly putting yourself in corners).
Staying cool (panik is what bloodsucker needs).
what else.
Aha. shallow water. Can't stay invisible with all dat splashes and slushes
Shotgun to face is really nice to dish out huge damage at once, except there are NO shotguns in the place I assume the player is in
Especially fun fighting them in a cave. It eats 5+ shotgun shells to the face and keeps going, that's just an exercise in frustration, not a thrilling duel.
All that would be different on a lower setting is that it would get to knock me over more times and that it would eat less shells, but it's still not a fun enemy to engage with. Especially with the garbage peashooters you get.
Also - yeah, shoot the shimmer. Except sometimes it decides to walk up and smack you anyway.
For me the 'Cave-Sucker' took a grenade (he was standing on it) and 6-8 buckshot. on stalker difficulty, their damage is easy to avoid but they're tedious as hell to kill. bandits will take upwards of 5~ish shots (5x45 rounds) to the chest, but always die from one shot to the head. this would make more sense (not much more, mind you) if they weren't just wearing either a soft vest or leather jacket...
