Any tips on killing that first poltergeist?

Yo. Spoilers ahead.

Playing veteran difficulty.

That prologue Boat has a poltergeist in it. I can't seem to kill it even when i get the drop on it. 2 ak mags dumped into it and its not going down. Whats up about that? Dont remember them being that hard... Dont remember seeing one this quick in the other games haha!

It took me 2 shotgun shells and 3 mags to kill it. You don't get any loot for defeating it, but you do get to see the canonical physical body of a poltergeist for the first time in the games.

Thank you. I did notice the flying objects as the means for attack.

When you attacked the poltergeist, did you get into the boat through that ladder and hole in the wall? or did you attack it from outside? When i get inside the boat, it feels like im always chasing the thing from one side of that L to the other and every time it passes me i take dmg.

Yeah I had more trouble with this guy than I did the Bloodsucker lol.

First off, it is essential that you get in there (where it is) before it spots you or it'll start chucking ♥♥♥♥ at you before you've even entered the boat and that's a huge waste of HP.

But after that, all you can do is chase it and shoot it. Try to switch to semi-auto if you have a fully-automatic rifle (press B by default) because shooting at it fullauto is a waste of ammo. It seems to become invulnerable for a few seconds everytime you hit it.

After that I just sprinted after it like a COD-kid on redbull lol.

Shotgun is your best friend killing mutants, i think you can granade the bastard too, it flies around a tiny room so it should blast it to bits.

Aha, ok. So spray less, just poke it once then let it run and do again? If it has constant invulnerability phases, that sucks so much ass :(

You can probably just crouch past the boat. I could have without alerting the guy, but i want to kill him.

Took me 3 shotgun shells and half mag AK single shot to kill it, really easy. Just sneak up behind it 3rd floor of boat and shoot it. Then it goes to the back room where you jumped down into. Just need to move when you hear things levitating. He puts a wall of rock as defense so just wait until that's gone.

There's a bag upstairs that has 45 armored piercing 5.45 and 2 army grade medkits if you Wana kill it or just grab loot and run

Don't need to kill it.
It's attacks are very slow, just hide behind a corner before it launches the item at you. Then you have enough time to check the room for loot before it's next attack.
Do this for every room.

Just rush the intro, there is no point in doing anything extra since you lose all items after those fights.

shoot it with your gun, aim correctly

I killed it using skiff pistol on veteran difficulty. Just run and shoot
