Voice acting
The English voice acting is utter dog crap. I miss the generic eastern European accents.

Go into settings and change it to the ukrainian voiceover, it is an option. doesnt get more authentic than that.

Tried that and if anything it's less immersive. Having to constantly read subtitles why I'm playing isn't very immersive to me.

It's not bad acting it just feels out of place. Switch to ukr voice with subs and you're good.

I get you about subs but seems preferable to the dire English version to me. Can't listen to it any more and I've only just gotten past the prologue.

ye skif voice actor was a terrible choice. sounds like one of those random tik tok kids.

I'm glad i'm not the only one. I had to switch to the ukr voice over too. I would have preferred english with an accent though.

Agree with the OP and others (and I speak English). I miss the English with the Slavic accent. The other game Metro:Exodus English voiceovers were perfect. I will also switchover to Ukranian voice with English subtitles.

I am glad someone said it. Love the game but I skip dialogue as its immersion breaking and jarring to say the least. Very poor voice acting with a mixture of regional British accents, mostly northern. English with Ukrainian accent would have been perfect. Sorry if its due to a lack of male Ukrainians to do the voice acting, for obvious reasons, do not mean to be insensitive. What is with some of the dialogue too, 'permission to raise spirits' omfg cringe, who thought that up, don't get me started on the 'base sh1t' or whatever line, that in some encampments you hear over and over on repeat.

From what I understand the native Ukrainian speakers think most of the UA voice acting is phoned in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and most of the English speakers also think their dub is phoned in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. So it really comes down to whether bad voice acting bothers you more in your native language or in a one you may or may not know. I don't speak UA so it doesn't bother me as much when its in that version, but I could see a native speaker being just as bothered as I was when trying the English version.
