but jokes aside, Pretty much all games on steam do a global release, not a rolling release.

I've half a mind to just start downloading or decrypting while on my lunch break, and come home game ready to go 3 hours later

Im still a bit confused why Wednesday was chosen for release date but Im sure there's some unknowable reason only the great monolith can explain.

weds is the new friday, not keen on the 4pm release date for the UK though.

I bet some people took the day off work, and they will only get it 2-3 hours earlier without a days pay

btw whats the best edition to buy deluxe?

There are advantages to picking a release day where you have a couple of normal workdays right after release: If you need to work issues, you don't have to call people in on the weekend.

I suppose I didn't think of it that way. Dumping a game on Friday and leaving for the weekend is irresponsible. Especially if there's a major problem that needs to call someone back on what would normally be tike off

4pm release in the UK is actually earlier than usual.
most games on steam are released at 7pm CET, which would be 6pm in the UK.

european people who still take a day off work at the release date of most games on steam are silly and should know by now they come out in the evening, not early morning.

Might as well, you can just initiate the download on your PC while at work using the Steam app.
