Absolute Void of Visible LGBTQ+ Support in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl

It's an issue because many gamers like me identify as LGBTQ+, but we often do not see ourselves represented in the games we play. This makes us feel excluded and unwelcome in the gaming community, as if the games are not made with us in consideration.

Chornobyl Exclusion Zone has changed dramatically after the second massive explosion in year 2006. Violent mutants, deadly anomalies, warring factions have made the Zone a very tough place to survive. Nevertheless, artifacts of unbelievable value attracted many people called S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s, who entered the Zone for their own risk striving to make a fortune out of it or even to find the Truth concealed in the Heart of Chornobyl. {...}

No mentioning of future LGBTQ+ representation in the game at all.

This a problem because a potential lack of inclusive representation will have a major negative impact on the game’s reception and popularity. It also limits the game’s potential to reach a wider and more diverse audience, who are looking for games that reflect their own identities and experiences.

In 2024, when more and more people are aware of and supportive of LGBTQ+ rights and issues, it's important for the devs to consider my LGBTQ+*folx in their game, and it is essential for game developers to embrace diversity and inclusion in their games, by creating LGBTQ+*characters and stories that are authentic, respectful and meaningful.

LGBTQ+ inclusion will also enrich the game’s narrative and gameplay, as well as foster a more inclusive and supportive gaming culture, in addition.

Hence why LGBTQ+ representation is extremely important, hope we are included on release.

People play games to have fun, not to feel acknowledged or appreciated, go outside or maybe get some therapy.

Devs' job is to deliver a working game in respectable state up to standards, or at least their own, not to give you therapy sessions.

LGBTQ+ inclusion is NOT a "therapy session".

I have more fun playing when I'm acknowledged and appreciated, NOT in other way.

Bigotry and neglect of minorities ruins games.

if you want to play LGBTQ games there is a search bar on the store page, i suggest you use it if you arent able to enjoy a game that doesnt cater to your lifestyle.

This argument is also incorrect because it implies LGBTQ+ people are not part of the world, that their stories and identities are irrelevant or problematic.

It disregards the fact that games have historically been dominated by cishetero characters, LGBTQ+ representation is still very limited and oftenly stereotypical.

How are you so sure there is no representation at all? Have you played the game? Or are you insisting that every single narrative feature should be listed at the game's front page? There might be representations you seek, you can't know for sure. It might not be listed, since LGBTQ+ representation is far from MAIN focus in the game. Its a narrative element, not gameplay feature, which would sell such game to target audience.

you are not entitled to have every single thing revolve around you or your lifestyle, no matter how much you want it.

its also history ADJACENT, there arent mutants running around chernobyl and so the game is not historically accurate, so again thats not an argument for arbitrarily including a LGBTQ theme that would not make sense in the scope of the game.
