Report a translation problem
The vive console's other resolution setting is for the resolution it will tell SteamVR your headset runs at. Set it at auto and test. If it works as it should, it'll test your GPU and tell steamvr a good number, so when steamvr is at 100% of that, your GPU is fully utilized.
A few users have this auto setting screw things up, in which case I'd set it for the vive's resolution and change the global value in Steamvr.
