Loving the game but man these checkpoints
It really sucks just having to run to the boss again, just leave a checkpoint at the door or something, and to add insult to injury sometimes they even make it twice annoying like the King fight where you have to go past this swinging chandelier, like, whats the point? Waste my time?!

Of all the annoying things to take from Souls game, gotta take the most time wasting one, solid game tho'.

this game has the most fair checkpoints of the most souls games, others have way longer ways to get back to a boss.
The way back to the King is just a straight path with just 1 enemy, other games throw you 10+ enemies in the way so LoP is absolutly fair imo

Felt this way. Just remembered the stakes of Marika in Elden Ring and how useful those were in making sure you weren't just running through the same area to just get another attempt at a fight

I mean, yeah its not as bad as some of the DS bonfires, but it doesn't mean that it's not still kinda annoying, i felt Elden Ring had already solved that, just leave a non-resty checkpoint at the door, maybe even the chalice could also work as a reset point as well as a multiplayer thing (i think? I havent used it? is that what it is?)

I've played it, i played all of 'em, again, not as bad as that, still bad tho', still think boss checkpoints should be at their door, not as annoying is still annoying.

Most of "checkpoints" in this game are RIGHT in front of the boss area. It can't get any easier than that.

Sigh fine dude whatever, i just don't enjoy having to hold the run button for a minute to try the boss again, thats my point, its not that bad, but still shouldn't be like this, its annoying, but go off, i'm not saying the game's ♥♥♥♥, its just an annoying aspect.

For which specifically boss you have to "hold the run button for a minute"?

What
This game has extremely generous checkpoints; some bosses even have the stargazer at the boss' door.
LuckyCheshire Feb 17, 2024 @ 11:22pm
Yeah, I get what you're saying. Fortunately, the last three (including the two hardest) bosses in the game all have a checkpoint right smack-dab in front of their arena.

1 - gang of rabbits, you have to run from checkpoint, upwards, then forward, dodging enemies until your way there.

2- king of puppets, run through the entrance, dodge chandelier

3- muscle guy, run through enemies, risk getting hit when going up the ladder or fight them, then run some more to get into his room.

These are the ones i remember, muscle guy is the worst by far cause of the ladder, like if youre ok with having your time wasted, sure mate, no prob, don't pretend it isn't there, it gets annoying when you're fighting a though boss.

No, not so far in my experience, not as bad as other DSs, but still bad.

Indeed, the Door Guardian is the fourth-to-last boss of the game (not counting some mini-bosses), and by far the most irritating to run back to. Also just irritating in general, as a gimmick boss. By the way, if you haven't figured it out yet, you can break the gun turrets arrayed along the wall in the area just before his arena, and they won't respawn. You still have to dodge the corpse manticore thingies and a couple other random enemies, but breaking the turrets makes that slog a whole lot easier.

sigh ''not as bad'' implies it's still bad/annoying, its just that you've seen worse, but it doesn't erase the meaning behind that phrase. It's a small annoyance, i admit, its a nitpick, but it is annoying, especially when it's deliberate.

I got no idea who you talkin' about lolz, i'm fighting the muscle guy, after the king of puppets i think, big zangief/bane looking fella, so you might've accidentally spoiled me but i'm sure i'll forget about it, so all is forgiven!

Oops, oh, you mean Victor. I guess only spoiled a vague name and some info you would figure out within two seconds of entering that area anyway though. Yeah, the run to Victor is a little irritating too. You can basically just completely ignore all of the enemies in the way though. I suppose there's a chance of getting hit while trying to climb the ladder, but from what I remember I could just run past and not get hit, possibly dodging once on the way.
