Should I buy it or wait for better discount?

If there's ever a better sale price I would recommend picking it up though. I agree with Bankai to maybe wait to see if it is a better price around the holidays?

I am currently waiting for a better discount. Almost 40 is still too much for me.

Right now it's 35% off, in my country with the discount it would be $30 and I think I'm going to buy it.

You can always wait for Christmas sale, the game isn’t a year old at this point.

-50% when? More than year since release has passed already...

It's worth it right now, but of course you can keep waiting for deeper discounts years later.

You're gonna be waiting another year.

Is 10% more of a discount worth the wait? For me it's a $6 difference. It's not worth waiting for $6.

I've never understood the 'higher price needs more playtime' argument. Is a game better simply for being longer, or is there more to the enjoyment factor than just how long it takes to finish? Lies of P might take less time to beat than something less linear, like an unnecessarily large open world mess of a Ubisoft game, but the experience is more curated and specific. It's like Sekiro in that there's a very good reason to follow a more linear path.

Plus it may take you longer to beat if you're like me and kind of suck at the combat. I'm sitting at around 50 hours and just beat the King of Puppets, which feels somewhere near the half-way point based on what I've gathered from a few spoilers.

I personally think it's worth $36, but that's a value judgment based on how enjoyable the game has been so far, not on how long I expect to be playing it.

With 50% discount, it will reach treshold of what I accept as price for videogame. Mind you, though, I'm from different region so it's not in USD or EUR.

Because currently, with 40% discount, it still costs more than some AAA games costed without any discount. Yeah the way how regional pricing shuffles over years is a mess.

I know it worth it for many anyway, but I still have my backlog too (I mean, I still havent finished DkS3 yet so there is lots to do), so eh... maybe on Summer sale, then.

I liked the demo of Lies of P though pretty much to spend 10-12 hours on it.

King of Puppets is about halfway, yes.

I agree with what was said. A games' worth is not determined just by "playtime". How much you're willing to pay for a game is subjective, though.

I'd prefer if more games were short and fun experiences like this one, rather than some bloated, 100h+ mess of a game.
Heiinz Dec 23, 2024 @ 12:28pm
this game is very very deserving of a full price payment. so whatever floats your goat

Omg you're cyber-demon
I spent 35h for first run with the help of specters, +5h for final boss fight
And currently 20h more for the NG+ run, and still have to beat 3 final bosses, so I guess it will take up to 10 more hours lol
P.S. my first souls-like and first 35h without learning to perfect block evolved into +5h on final boss, it was like learning game from zero, lol
P.P.S. Enjoying each minute of the game, was waiting for more than 40% discount for ~6 months, but seems like 40% is maximum for the nearest time. But probably upcoming DLC will change the situation

I agree but my autistic ass needs achievement hunting and replay ability I love learning a game and just being able to play it for a couple hundred hours, ARPGS roguelikes etc very hype for upcoming dlc tho. Loved sekiro probably my "favourite" (atleast the most consistently enjoyable) of the FROM games but also the one ive spent the least time on due to poor re playability, except maybe demon souls but that games kinda cheeks even remastered lmao

I'm personally waiting for the dlc 'complete' edition or whatever they'll call it....and maybe for that to go on sale too lol
