Laxasia kicked my ass over and over....
I probably fought her like 50 times before I realized I could break both her sword (which starts phase 2) and shield.

Once I learned that I only need to focus on perfect parrying and breaking her shield in Phase 1, I was able to get to Phase 2 with most of my resources intact.

It still took me another 20 tries or so to beat her, but eventually I pulled it off.

Still, this was by far the hardest boss I fought in the game up to this moment, puppet king maybe took me only 20 tries or so.... But Laxasia was around 70 xD

I don't like to use specters if I can help it, but this boss almost had me using them... I probably could have beat her easily if I wasn't stubborn and refused to use the specter...

Is laxasia or the nameless puppet harder?

I haven't got to the nameless puppet fight, I just know it exists...

You can not break Nameless Puppet sword as far as I can tell. I stayed in phase 1 for nearly 15 minutes focusing on perfect guarding its attacks and the sword never broke.

In terms of difficulty, I found Nameless Puppet more frustrating compared to Laxasia for some reason even if I do not think it was much more difficult.

I think Laxasia is harder, personally. This could just be my fighting style, but her zipping followed by a mid-air pause threw me for a loop each time. Nameless puppet feels more traditional where several attacks can be more reactionary. He has his moments though, for sure. He also has far less health so you could reliably practice his second phase and learn his attacks where Laxasia is a tank in phase 1.

The trick in phase 2 is to parry her lightning bolts. They go back to her and make her a lot of damage. You can also use the shield (in the fake arm, I don't remember its name) and use it to block her attacks in phase 1 to makes things easier. But yes, the general key to that boss is perfect parry.

In my opinion, Nameless Puppet is way more difficult, because I don't think it has an easy way or gimmick to defeat it. And it is very hard (at least it was for me).

Good luck

Ehh - to me they are about on-par, but the difficulty is different in itself. Laxasia for example is fast, as is Nameless, but she also has that one attack to shoot lightning at you that could be deflected. Nameless doesn't have projectiles, but has special reach attacks akin to Lady Maria from Bloodborne and is not often in a neutral stance (long combos, fast transitions, 2 weapon modes on phase 2).

Guess the TL:DR is - Nameless applies pressure like Laxasia, but it's all in your face vs possibly from projectiles (and he can heal 1 time during phase 1). So while they are similar, it will be harder if you do "less well" against enemies constantly running into you.

So I just beat nameless puppet, took me around 10 tries....

Compared to Laxasia, he was MUCH easier to deal with. I feel like both his phase 1 and phase 2 attacks were FAR easier to parry then Laxasia's phase 2 attacks (which were MUCH harder to both dodge and parry)

I think the reason people complain about his difficulty is they can't cheese him with a specter...
