How do I recharge a wishstone?

Are wishstones consumable? I used one on a cube and that number has been 0 ever since. It says I should recharge it at a stargazer, but it stays 0. (This is making me worried to use my grinder in case the grindstone disappears too)

Talk to the guy that gave the cube. Later on though you need to buy wishes from him. Resting at stargazer only pulls excess wishes from your storage.

Yeah it's not really conveyed well in the tutorial. Resting only refreshes your cube if you have a wishstone of the same type you have equipped in storage.

When you first get it, you can keep getting a free recovery one from the dude in the cathedral who gave it to you, but after you unlock the golden fruit tree, you need to start buying them from him with those.

There are so many poorly explained mechanics in this game! It’s a great game (especially the combat) but it definitely could use a little more clarity.
