Dodge / Dash question

So, I've been playin for awhile and just realized that some of my P-Organs are for "dashing". I've also seen wording for Dodging which now throws me off.

I remember seeing a tooltip about it but honestly the ♥♥♥♥ went away so fast that I guess it never stuck. On PC, to DODGE is to use "spacebar" and DASH is also "spacebar". Are they considering "dash" to be when you only press "spacebar" to quickly jump backwards? Is that considered dashing backwards I suppose?

I know the ability of dodge rolling and being able to do another mid-dodge but "dashing" is throwing me off. Not sure if I'm not using my controls right or if I am and am just not realizing it lol.

Dash is just the sprint.

I'm not a fan of the one button doing two actions, I dodge when all I want to do is sprint for a second.

It's optimized for controller. MKB is just an afterthought.
One reason I just stuck with a controller. Same for the cursed inventory system.

Too hard to code for both platforms you sell on.
