Easily the worst part of the game so far for me, hoping it stays that way...
EDIT: On reflection this fight isn't actually bad at all, I was just mad because bad. Still don't love gank fights but this was fine
Sorry, but him going from one heavy slam to another in less than a sec just aint it, this is the rule, big guy = slow, Elden Ring did the mistake of not following that and made one of the most obnoxious bosses in Souls history in the process.
Focusing the boss means that 1-3 of his buddies will spawn in and begin to chip your HP down, which is not fun at all when your weapon is slow enough that getting chipped will kill you quickly.
Focusing the enemies means your burning time trying to hit far more evasive foes than the boss, with the first one in particular being especially annoying to hit if you're using a heavier weapon since they can just decide to backflip out of attacks when they want to.
You could try to break his sword, but the number of times you need to parry is (at least from what I've seen) pretty damned high, as I spent at least 1-2 minutes doing nothing but parries and the thing refused to break. The parry and attack timing in this game is not nearly forgiving enough for that to be feasible in most cases, unless your fine with dying a few dozen times to practice parries, not to mention if technical problems get in the way.
I never have and never will like gank fights like this: It always throws the games flow out the window and instead of enhancing the experience, it becomes a speedbump your stuck dealing with any time you replay the game in the future.
plus I dont want to fight 2 or more enemies at the same time if I focus the main boss only I will literally get ganked unlike when you focus the extra first where the main guy will mostly just watch.
