I just beat it and wow, this boss is a gankfest atrocity. No idea what happened here.

Easily the worst part of the game so far for me, hoping it stays that way...

EDIT: On reflection this fight isn't actually bad at all, I was just mad because bad. Still don't love gank fights but this was fine

I was able to beat it 2nd try. It's not bad if you stay away from the big guy and slowly poke away at the weaker one that constantly rushes you.

My main problem was the big guy's 1 frame attacks, that was total BS.

Sorry, but him going from one heavy slam to another in less than a sec just aint it, this is the rule, big guy = slow, Elden Ring did the mistake of not following that and made one of the most obnoxious bosses in Souls history in the process.

I've gotten quite a bit further into the game and it's just been great so far, so it will probably stay the worst for the rest of the game. Unless they suddenly throw something atrocious at you at the very end

It was tough but not particularly troublesome for me. Focus your attacks on the big guy and fatal attack him at least once. Do not bother yourself too much with two smaller rabbits, and keep the main one in your line of site. Flamberge was quite good for me during this fight.
just found out that parrying him a couple of times and not hitting him for awhile would break his great sword but not sure whether it affects his damage

It does, breaking the weapon of the enemy severely reduces their dmg, most of the time, the battle is won at that point, unless youre in really bad shape.

Currently stuck on this fight as of time of writing. Main issue with me is that the game is clearly designed around 1v1 bosses and encounters and, as usual, the inevitable gank fight throws everything out of wack for no reason.

Focusing the boss means that 1-3 of his buddies will spawn in and begin to chip your HP down, which is not fun at all when your weapon is slow enough that getting chipped will kill you quickly.

Focusing the enemies means your burning time trying to hit far more evasive foes than the boss, with the first one in particular being especially annoying to hit if you're using a heavier weapon since they can just decide to backflip out of attacks when they want to.

You could try to break his sword, but the number of times you need to parry is (at least from what I've seen) pretty damned high, as I spent at least 1-2 minutes doing nothing but parries and the thing refused to break. The parry and attack timing in this game is not nearly forgiving enough for that to be feasible in most cases, unless your fine with dying a few dozen times to practice parries, not to mention if technical problems get in the way.

I never have and never will like gank fights like this: It always throws the games flow out the window and instead of enhancing the experience, it becomes a speedbump your stuck dealing with any time you replay the game in the future.

I think this boss could have been incredible if they just dropped the gank and instead have you face each member in an 1v1, starting with the girl and ending with the big guy. They'd all share the same healthbar obviously and each of them would be like 25% of the total health, but instead we got this messy ganksquad. It's a shame

The only advice i can give for this fight is to just RUSH the big guy. Have enough HP replenish charges to deal with tanking some ganking or blocking. you will get stun locked, you will get pinned down and you will get ganked. By design it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful, i agree. just get through it asap.

I actually loved it, compared to the 3rd boss (flame keeper I think) this was great
Marcel Sep 17, 2023 @ 1:24am
killed him on my second try. i basically just went full on the eldest brother and ignored all adds. the aegis legion arm was also helpful

I still focused on the other siblings that is not the main boss just because they don't really deal damage and the main guy only attacks once in a while which is very easy to dodge.

plus I dont want to fight 2 or more enemies at the same time if I focus the main boss only I will literally get ganked unlike when you focus the extra first where the main guy will mostly just watch.
My strat would be to parry the heck out of the main boss until the blade breaks which greatly reduce weapon dmg and then focus one by one on each mini boss. The boss would charge at you from time to time either dodge it or parry it. Once all 3 mini boss are done just solo the main boss. If you are good at parry window I think perfect parry is quite easy and doable but yea gank boss fight is a nono. I still enjoy the one on one battle with the great sword guy really fun to parry.

I didn't hate it per se (got it on my 2nd try). The big guy walks super slow once one of his companions jump in and occasionally does the running attack if you stay away from him. Good thing also is that his companions are so easy to stun.
