Stop pretending Denuvo impacts performance
We all know the reason why everyone here hates Denuvo, you don't wanna pay for games for whatever reason and it's making that hard for you, cool, i don't really care, but stop trying to sugar coat your actual reasoning by fear mongering people who can actually afford to get games legally by saying it "kills performance" or "High CPU temp" etc...

i recently played RE4R and and the game ran at a smooth +100fps ultra on a 12400/3060ti the entire time, didn't even know it had Denuvo until after i beat it, and that's when i realized many of the games that i played in the past year had Denuvo and i didn't even notice because most of them ran just fine.

TL;DR Denuvo doesn't really affect anything, if you can afford games and Lies Of P seems interesting to you stop listening to the hivemind and just buy the game or wait for sale.

Edit: I have to address that i meant "noticable performance drop" when i said Impact, im aware that it adds extra cpu cycles but nothing that you would really notice unless you're playing on a 13 years old rig, people usually tend to blame poor developer optimization on Denuvo and compare performance before/after a game removes Denuvo while ignoring the fact that the patch that removed Denuvo also included performance + bug fixes.

there's plenty of evidence proving that it does impact performance and causes other, much more serious issues, such as locking you out of a legitimately purchased game or damaging your hardware.

There no need to pretend anything. There's even developers and publishers reporting on Denuvo's impact, such as Tekken 7's producer confirming there won't be Denuvo on Tekken 8 because it hampered the game and damaged their reputation. I think that kind of testimony holds more weight than any random on the internet.

And Denuvo's impact doesn't even stop at performance: installation limits, incompatibilities and random lockouts, unjustified online requirement.... that's only the tip of the iceberg there.

OP is technologically disabled and ignorant. They let just about anyone on the internet these days, huh?
Hardwater Sep 15, 2023 @ 6:01am
It would be impossible for it not to have a performance overhead, it uses computational power therefore it obviously has an effect on performance, and its been proved multiple times. I sometimes wonder if part of a Denuvo subscription includes a bunch of paid shills scanning forums to spread disinformation on the steam forums for any games it uses in the lead upto launch and first week or so.

This is true.

RE4R was an amazing port, also OP has decent specs, wonder if he was on 1080p, though i read a stat a while ago siting most PC gamers are using 1080p.

Shilling for a game is already pretty pathetic, but shilling for DRM has to be one of the worst things a gamer can do. Imagine working against your own self-interest as a customer just for the sake of being a fanboy. What twisted, broken mind does it take to reach such levels of subservience to corporate interests? What's next for these people? would they happily shoot their own families if they thought this could make a few extra cents for their favorite corporate brand?

It's a bait thread btw
Wilku21 Sep 15, 2023 @ 7:01am
Oh shut up, dude... you are simping not only for a game company who doesn't know you exist but also for crappy DRM that affects performance.
Besides that, dev should get crap for sneaking this BS in 4 days before release. That's scummy as hell
K@zzSama Sep 15, 2023 @ 7:31am
Welp i played the demo and i had pretty good results on my old grandpa pc 50-60 fps was neat and was ready to buy, but with this piece of ♥♥♥♥ malware implemented if it even dents 10 fps if not more thats a game changer for me, doesn't look so tempting anymore so.. hard pass. I hope the dev gets clapped in the ass for this sneaky blunder.

Stop inventing fantasy theories in your head about people hating Denuvo because they are pirates. Denuvo is simply an outside third party software which is being added like a parasitical entity on a game software. It sucks performance and is just annoying.

Steam private, doesn't own game they're defending, ignoring evidence. That's a bait.
buchecker Sep 15, 2023 @ 8:11am
And the shills crawl out of their holes again to defend anti consumer practices.
CheeseBoar Sep 15, 2023 @ 8:17am
Stop using performance as an empty excuse to defend Denuvo when the real issue is that this game is now a glorified rental that forces you to ask permission to play what you've already bought.

Also, automatically accusing everyone who doesn't like DRM of piracy invalidates every word you've said or will say.
