Game looks so good............ too bad I can't play it
Cannot remap WASD to the arrow keys. Games literally prevents it. "Use a controller, use WASD keys or FOAD."

Who was the genius who thought that was a good idea ? Very disappointed.

Trust me ---> AutoHotKey.

This free little utility is extremely powerful and can do much, much more than just remap keys and buttons. I've used it to:

> Force a game to use certain keys/buttons that it doesn't recognize
> Change Toggle Crouch/Aim/Zoom to Hold-to-Crouch/Aim/Zoom or vice versa
> Decrease mouse sensitivity while aiming/zooming
> Set a custom FOV that gets reset after aiming/zooming
> Automatically repeat a key/button when held down

...and more. There are games that would not be playable without this utility, or at least not worth playing.

I never use mods for something so critical. Every time the game updates there's the risk of it being unplayable. Been there done that.

Because I don't own a controller ? I use M&K for Elden Ring which is also a port, and have no issues.

You can get yourself Logitech G F310 controller, which is quite cheap and is actually very good controller. I bought it specifically to play games like this that were designed to be played on a controller and I didn't feel like spending more money on it.
Of course if you have some condition with your hands that prevents you from playing it with a controller or using wasd, then your only choice is the mod.

It's not so much a condition, but rather 25 years of ingrained habit. Mouse on the left, arrow keys bottom right, all the same keybinds for run/jump/crouch etc etc.
Arrow keys... How does that work? Do you like... Use the mouse with your left hand ond you want to use arrows or like.... I'm so confused. How the ♥♥♥♥ do you use arrow keys to move

I also played for decades with a mouse and keyboard. Until I started playing souls games and felt uncomfortable doing certain things in the game and tried a controller.
If you never tried it, I would advise just get one to try it out for a week or more and see if you will better with. You can just return it back if you don't like how it feels.
And it also bypasses weird issues like with this game, which I didn't even know, where you cannot rebind the keys for some reason. It's kind of mind boggling that they didn't include this option.

There is such a thing in the world as left-handed people and they use the mouse with the left hand. I know it's shocking, but it's true. My uncle's coworker's friend even saw one, or so I heard.
The WASD system is the same as the arrow keys, they just look different. But really, unless you are left handed and need the mouse to be on the left side of the keyboard, using the WASD system is much more practical.

arrows instead of wasd, instead of buying a gamepad, in 2025, who needs a mouse anyway

gotta live up to that pfp

Yes I need the mouse to be on the left.
I've played the game 3 times on keyboard, don't see what's difficult about it.
My suggestion for such cases is to use AutoHotKey.

You should play these kinds of games with a controller as that's how they're designed.
