If you Ctrl-F "feedback thread" on this page:
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/
You can see the 2-4x increase of posts from 560/566 to 572 drivers.

Maybe look through the driver software and turn off any fancy new features 1 by 1.
Like "DLSS Ray Reconstruction", "Nvidia Smooth Motion", idk what else because their press releases are so full of ♥♥♥♥.
I just downloaded the latest driver (572.65) but I'm not holding my breath for it to fix my problem with the game lol. But it's probably a bug like you said and there really isn't anything I can do on my end. I've literally messed with the settings all I could....it's such a weird problem. The game will run fine when I first start playing but after a while it the fps will fluctuate like crazy like you see in the video, and the only "fix" for it is to restart the game. But that's only a temporary fix...I'm on chap 9 so I'll probably just finish the game but it's disappointing that I'm having this issue. Hopefully by the time the DLC comes out Nvidia will have got there ♥♥♥♥ together and worked out these bugs.
For me DLSS did absolutely nothing. Which makes sense considering my GPU wasn't stressed at all even at native 4K 120fps. Which I imagine it'll be the same for you at 1440p. I wish you luck and hope you find a solution, because I tried everything and I couldn't stop the fps from dropping. The only "fix" I've found is to restart the game, but that only helps temporarily and after a little while the fluctuating fps returns. If you find a solution let me know lol.
I got to chapter 6 now and can confirm that fps drops would come back any time I entered a new location. Like you mentioned, the only thing that I found to actually help was restarting the game when it was happening.
It is a bit frustrating to restart the game all the time, but hey, at least we know it's a viable workaround :D hopefully this will be fixed in the future.
WOW! What a insightful comment! But no clown the game isn't running poorly because the 5080 is "crap". Every other game runs just fine but this game doesn't for whatever reason, the current Nvidia driver might be crap for this game in particular but there's nothing wrong with the card. Do yourself and everyone a favor and don't leave a comment if you don't have anything helpful or intelligent to say :)
Don't be mad at me because you bought an inferior product that has been confirmed to be worse than it should be.
The only one who's mad here is you. You're literally in other threads crying about Nvidia lol. And once again the only problems I've had is with this game in particular, every other game has had no issues. The only inferior product here is your 4070 super and it's pathetic 12gb of Vram lmao
Please stop. Learn to use the block button. Unfortunately I have to block you too and unsubscribe from the discussion, but I hope you figure out the issue.
Oh, I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that 12 gigs of VRAM is somehow bad all of a sudden bad when it can handle 1440p and 4K just fine.
Have you been convinced by the tech "experts" that you need more than 12 gigs of VRAM or the game will be completely unplayable? Surely not.
Tell me you don't know anything about GPU's without telling me.
This place has some narrow iron frames we walk on it a few stairs from where you are in the video. I remember falling at least twice because the camera just turned all of a sudden. I remember there were some things you could do to improve a bit but I would have to reinstall the game and test again. It think locking the fps would help, lower FPS would make the problem appear less. Maybe that's why people running the game at 60 fps are having the problem less frequent or not at all. Also setting the low latency to ultra in the driver settings. Also don't remember which was better, fullscreen or borderless.
I'm not only without space but also don't have the save, would have to start again, and I'm not willing to do that before the DLC xD.
The worst part is when you just cross the gate from the city hall to the factory. That upper part, before going forward and going down any stairs (or falling of the roof). If you just randomly walk there and move the camera it's a stutter fest. Maybe because it's a transition area and the game keeps loading and reloading assets. Optimisation issue. It's not specific to 5000 series.
You probably finished the game by now but let me guess, after the factory the problem vanished and only came back in the part the OP showed in the video.
The factory is the worst part If I'm not mistaken, If you teleport to the stargazer Venigni is hiding and try to fall and run to the part Fox the Cat used to be you'll see...
I don't remember this problem bothering me in any other place in the game, only the factory and this gallery.
Let's hope so.
Let's hope that along with the DLC also comes a patch to solve or at least improve these performance issues.
No problems on my 5070Ti OC Edition apart from a few fairly rare micro stutters but which are linked to the game engine and not the 5000 series... The game runs under Unreal engine 4, well known for its performance problems and strange stutters.
