Can't level up anymore?

So I left off with the demo sometime into the second area, still impressed that its long enough that I had to do that. I've come back now and umm... I can't level up? Is there a bug or a reason for that?

Go to Sophia at hotel, explained via story at first stargazer that you probably skipped.

Once you reach Hotel Krat you need to get back there (via Stargazer through "G" key) and talk to Sophia to upgrade your character. From that point onward, all Stargazers become tools for teleport and storage.
