[Spoiler] Robot Dialogue
I was watching a streamer play the demo on my phone and realized that the fake robot language is actually english with a super weird font. If you squint you can actually read it!

For instance, the Parade Master says "You would have given the King a real show" when defeated.

Damn, that's pretty cool. I wonder if it's gonna be a constant throughout the final game or it becomes clearer and clearer as you progress. (or maybe it becomes clear on NG+ or something)
nice
That text is meant to look like that? I thought it was glitched, like my graphics card memory corrupting data or something :er_sweat:
The Parade master also says, "Bad boys deserve the switch," during his phase change when he pulls out his weapon. The final boss says during his phase change, "aaaugh... My back is hot... I'm exploding!" as he overloads his battery and electricity bursts out. I'm not sure what he says on death though or if there was more of these. If there way, I missed them.
I don't understand the point of that feature. It's hard to read, the puppets don't actually say anything, the distortion of the font doesn't represent anything. But you can when rewatching own records or somebody's walkthrough/stream.

I think it was just a stylistic thing that might make more sense when we start to understand what went wrong with the puppets. Like the bosses seem like they possess more of a personality to them than normal puppets do, kind of like how Pinocchio may be intended to be more human, so giving them lines of dialogue like these that don't seem like something they'd be designed to say puts that across, but they aren't saying it in a way you or Pinocchio can normally understand it because they're so corrupted. More like they're trying to speak and it's coming out illegible.

The point is it's a bit of added flavour, for those that pay attention. It's the little things that change a competent but otherwise unremarkable game into something special.

Well that and the Soulsborne series makes a living off making the story of the game as cryptic as possible. So it's not surprising that some imitators of that type of game would also copy that style of world building and story.

Most games that take place in a fancy new world spend a lot of time bringing the player up to speed or they have a character in the group that has no clue what this new world is about so they can explain to that character and the audience this one doesn't.

At even a casual glance the world of Lies of P looks nothing like our own. Even if it does seem to take place in some Pinocchio universe.

Wow, I didn't think you could read that. Cool
I loved that with Nier. This makes the atmosphere and the robots as well as the story even more interesting.

But English is not my native language. This makes it extremely difficult for me to read the words. And yes, I already watch videos and pause, but that doesn't make it any easier to recognize the words^^° I play in German but the dialogues from the robots are in English.

Does this change in NG+ or does it remain unreadable?
