well, its quite like souls in the sense that you have weapons that favor stats.
Big heavy smashers that like motivity or strength. Technique is just dexterity and fast weapons like it. Except we dont really have magic we have advance, which is for elemental damage of a fire weapon, or electric weapon....etc.
You have a HP stat that you shouldnt ignore. There are stats for stamina and carry weight also, but these can be put in the back a little bit, vs health and damage related stats.
You kind of start the same as others and later you will be able to get upgrades that go beyond leveling, example, damage reduction on dodges, so mistimed dodge at least counts as a pseudo block. Or a skill that will increase the stance damage of perfect guarding or using charged attacks.
By about 33? youve hit more or less, the best of a damage stat, and eventually it will give almost nothing per point.
weapons dont ask for any stats in this game. You can adjust their scaling w a certain item, so even a giant hammer can become more dex friendly, or at least it becomes a quality weapon that relies on both str and dexterity. You can try practically any weapon in this game and do OK damage, even if its not for the build.
At the start, block reliant strats have the advantage, at least until you find out how to upgrade dodges or just learn to slug with foes, thats possible too.
I'd like to piggy back off this question. I am about halfway through chapter 4 and still havent reached where I can respec my points. Can you let me know when I can do so? So far I haven't really gotten many weapons that I felt worth creating outside of my starter weapon. It is probably a more dex based slasher and light katana like weapon but forget the name. I just got to where you can use the rare ergo to buy items but accidentally bought all three weapons and didn't see the amulets below were asking for the same item. So I think I limited my weapon's strength with that. I am upgrading the 7 Coil and seem to like that the most so far.
