If you go to NG+, you can get all of the items you missed next time around. You'll have to do that anyway if you want all three endings and connected achievements, unless you mess with save files.
Each of the boss amulets (and weapons) has a completely unique effect. A lot of each are underwhelming, but none of them are completely useless.
OK thanks for the reply. So I wont be able to use those amulets but it shouldn't really alter the way I can use the weapon effectively and put me at too big a disadvantage? Also, a really dumb question I have is if the weapons break they are not repairable? Or is it only during that play through until you can rest? I found a lot of the nuance in the game difficult to learn.
The weapons don't break, you can just disassemble them. That seperates them into a blade and a handle. To be able to use the weapons again, you just need to reassemble them again, using any blade with any handle.
Oh ok that makes sense regarding the run having to make the choice. I was thinking perhaps the other amulets could be used on the other weapons so I could have put the holy sword amulet on the 7 coils or etiquette.
As for the disassembly these three weapons say they cannot be disassembled. The 7 coils broke during combat but after I died it was intact. I read that I'm supposed to keep an eye out when they get low and then use the grindstone. Is that using the guard button+Y to activate it? Or is that a powerful move?
And yes, weapons have durability. Don't let it hit 0. The weapons aren't permanently broken if they reach 0 though, they just get regenerated when you rest. You have two similar functions, the Grinder and Grindstones. The Grinder is infinite, it just restores durability. The Grindstones give your weapon a special buff temporarily.
And I should have been clearer, only normal weapons can be disassembled. Boss weapons (and the dragon glaive) can't be.
