is it just me or is something wrong with the game
the controls feel absurdly clunky (i play it on deck). every time i press anything i feel like there is an outrageous amount of input lag. can anyone tell me if its just me or if there is an ingame setting i need to change

Might be on your side. I play on PC and have 0 issues with the controls.

Is this your first souls-like game?
It's not just you.
I just refunded the game ten minutes ago due to this. Parries and dodges timing feel completely off and this makes the fighting not fun.

If you experience input lag on every action, then it's probably you. Likely, it's because of Steam Deck. I can suggest trying to put graphics on minimum settings and see if that helps any. This game seems to have someone resource-hungry, so low powered devices like Steam Deck might struggle with it.
However, there are also some pauses in between some actions that the character takes, so if you experience "lag" in combat, it might be because you character is staggered or maybe hasn't come out of the animation.

Hmm this is an interesting topic. I also play LoP on the Deck and had a difficulty to master perfect guarding throughout the game. I’m on the last boss though - Nameless Puppet - but the controls feel indeed clunky at times. Sometimes I press a button and P just stands in place like if I did press nothing. I play also Bloodborne via emulation on the Deck and had no such issue with the parry system or heck even in Dark Souls 3 I have no issue. Maybe it’s also just me but yeah it definitely feels weird. BTW game runs great and only drops frames in Hotel Krat at the main Stargazer I’m guessing because of all the particle effects.
