（Help）I got the grindstone equipped but the effects doesn't seem to work

So I'm fighting Laxasia now and I found im YT that I can use the perfect grindstone to parry her firstbarrage of attacks. But when I tried it it didn't do anything the biggest difference I saw is when I use my grindstone ut doesn't show the purple effect thingy...

I tried to use the other special grindstone equip and I realize that it doesn't work to any of them... not fire, not acid nada...

I'm here to ask how can I fix it... I've played through the game without using the effects of the grindstone and now I think I'll need it I've lost to Lasaxia for the nth time already

I'm going to guess you just don't know how to use it...
To Active it, you Hold Block then do the grindstone thing.
