stutters...
so i started playing the game and got past the first boss. however i am having a hard time playing this game because it just continues to stutters like every 1-3 seconds, its really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ distracting. even when i cap my frame rate at 30, the game stutters so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ much, even though msi afterburner says the frame times are stable.

i have an rx 5700 (with latest drivers) and a ryzen 7 3700x. hopefully someone can help me with this...

not very interesting update: upgraded to a 4070, still stutters. will eventually upgrade my cpu, but i doubt it will fix the stutters based on the replies ive seen on my post

-

somewhat good update: was able to reduce stutters pretty significantly... by upgrading cpu to 5700x3d... stutters are still there, but its not as deal breaking as before. locking the frame rate seems to make it near perfect.

so maybe a cpu upgrade would help for some of you. though, you mileage may vary, especially for intel cpus.

i kinda fixed it capping the fps at 75, how did you fix?

couldnt fix it sadly. will probably just wait until i can upgrade my set up. perhaps an nvidia gpu would help...?

you might reinstall your graphiics drivers and then see if the game does a shader cache step at the start. If it zips on through that explains your stutter.

Then again it is UE4 and it will stutter no matter how perfect the shader comp is. Just a trash engine in general a majority of the time.

i reinstalled multiple driver versions, and they all went through the shader compilation step when booting up the game. sadly still stutters with some bad frametimes

Same exact thing happens to me, I can watch it in real time, capped at 165 but I’ll run around or attack something and it drops to 161 or 160 and my frame times go nuts and it just hitches. No idea what to do, really annoying.

try capping the fps from the nivida control panel and put unilimited fps into the game, didint work for me but for you maybe, its very weird ou have this perfomance with your PC

Yeah I’ve done this, today I actually reinstalled a clean version of windows and first thing I did was just install steam, MSI afterburner, and check this game, what do you know, still stutters. I don’t know if I have hardware issues or what
NUBESUKO_TARO Jul 9, 2024 @ 11:34pm
I don't think this will help because I don't know why this will fix it.
But I'll share it in case it does.

When I turn off my main high performance monitor and output the game to a cheaper, less powerful monitor, the stutter goes away completely.
I have not changed the settings. I keep the highest preset.
When I switch back to the main monitor, the stutter occurs again. I don't understand what it means.
No matter if I limit it to 60Hz or reduce the quality, the main monitor always gets the stutter.
On the sub-monitor, no matter how crazy the settings are, it never stutters. It's driving me crazy.

By the way, the only other game that stutters besides this one is FNaFSB, which is made by the same damn UE.
I believe I'm not misconfiguring my PC, because none of the other games do this.
Sorry for my bad English.

People still thinking they can fix what can't be fixed. It is engine inherent. You have to deal with it.

I've taken this video to show you. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hPs5jJ2Fwn2A-oYZrs_4-IPruFVPbOsT/view?usp=drive_link

Look at that frametime graph, wtf is going on???
TheWizol Jul 15, 2024 @ 4:48pm
