there's basically two music qualities, the regular gameplay music is typical Souls quality, it's perfectly fine and good, but it's not memorable and isn't really soundtrack material.
Then there's the records you play in the hotel, those are good and fine, but my opinion(and a lot of players I'd expect) is heavily tainted by the game forcing you to play the full tracks for gameplay benefits and an achievement, so it carries the stigma of being something that forced me to sit around for a few minutes, a whole load of times.
IMO, it's decent, but not notably amazing. I forget that it's playing pretty quickly, most areas.
No. The actual background ost during gameplay is completely forgettable, assuming that you notice it in the first place.

However, there is a record player that you collect songs for with a couple of nice sounding tracks but nothing special.
Guys are capping imo.... the soundtrack of the game it's kinda ok for the most part, still pretty enjoyable.... except in the last chapter, where you have an enormous area with god level background music... the records are mostly very good to listen to, and a bunch of them I literally came back once in a while to the lobby to listen to them, so good and get the atmosphere
No. The background music (which you will hear through 99% of the game) is unremarkable.
The instrumental songs are really good (they're remixes of DJMax's songs after all) but you can only listen to them when you're on the hotel (the game's equivalent of Firelink shrine).
Stuff like boss music is fitting if forgettable, but this game has a LOT of diegetic music and it's all very pretty and makes the game more unique.
There's a boss fight that happens next to a stage playing a sad love song in french and somehow it doesn't feel out of place at all.
Fits the game, but nothing BIG. Records are more about emotion drama.

There is no OST at the level of DMC or something.
its good dont listen to the nerds
Pretty good, you even have records to collect and play

It doesn't force you to sit around, it autoplays the next track, so you can just start it at the first one then go make lunch or something and by the time you get back you've gotten credit for all of them.
OST is great. There's a decent number of good records you listen at the hotel. Some boss songs such as Greed and Greed, Shattered Memories, Judgement of Mourning and Nameless Chaos are remarkable. Everything else is good but doesn't really stand out, which is normal.

Dont listen to people saying it doesn't stand out. There's decent amount of songs that do stand out.
There are 2 types of music in this game.

Background music is very good but mostly forgetable. 2nd phases of King and Laxasia are my personal favorites among combat tracks, both are also synced well with fights. Still not something I would regularly listen to on its own. But hub location (hotel) track is something else, it even trumps fromsoft creations in how it sets the mood.

Then there is collectible music playable using gramophone in the hotel. Pretty much every track here is amazing.
