Technique build: Puppet Ripper or Two Dragon Sword?
Hi,
i have a technique build (40 points of technique) and i have the two weapons mentioned in the title's discussion both at +3, only one can be upgraded at +5, so which one to choose? Puppet Ripper or Two Dragon Sword?

Sorry for the cop-out answer, but it depends. The Two Dragon Sword is great if you're aggressive and can quickly memorize enemy attack timings. Puppet Ripper is more about staying at a range further away than you're normally allowed while using a weapon.

As I see it, it comes down to which normal blades you're upgrading. I like to have one faster weapon and one heavier hitting weapon.

two dragon sword ofcourse,
it goes along way
1. the only weapon that allows you position yourself after each attack (important)
2. also the only weapon that allows you to parry and then counter instantly after a charged attack (allows overcommiting attacks)

but if it is for me playing technique,
I'd pick dancer's curved sword set.

Trident of the Covenant

Two Dragon Sword only works if you're good

Honestly, I picked the Puppet Ripper first, then did a Two Dragons run for my next. While I enjoyed the Two Dragons sword, I was never wowed by the damage and didn't know the precise timings well enough to consistently use the charged heavy counter. If I admit my own bias, I spent a lot of time running the Ripper and know that moveset much more completely, and enjoy the additional reach.

So there isn't really a wrong answer - both are very powerful weapons that will easily carry you through any run. I prefer the Ripper for the additional reach, range on the charged heavy and punchier hits. But if you're a person with a good internal timer, the Two Dragons heavy counter is undeniably insanely strong. Personally for me, I found myself slightly mistiming it more often than not, and in the NG++ cycles the enemies hit so hard I couldn't risk making the error by over committing to the charged heavy unless I was sure I was going to get the counter. That definitely steered me away from the TD in my later runs.

This is the real answer. Trident of the Covenant is an incredible all-rounder weapon with a decent 3-cost offensive Fable Art AND a Guard Parry.

+1 vote for the trident
but the game has enough resources to fully upgrade both
I finished the game with a fully upgraded trident, dragons and 4 or 5 simple weapons.

Two Dragon Sword is my favorite, and ridiculously powerful if you commit to learning enemy patterns and timing it's delayed heavy attack parry. If parrying isn't your style, however, then plenty of other weapons are likely better.

Just to show you what kind of damage the two dragon sword can do when used well. This wasn't even a very good run; I made plenty of mistakes. ;)

I prefer the two dragon sword. People say you need to be skilled to use it but really you're just relearning when to use the parry.

twin sword is nice and fast, the ripper for me, is more of hitting at range with its extension, but the sword is better dps and mobility. Well, the sword does play different, like the r2 sends you back, if you dont like that, the ripper is fine.
