Hardly works, its a matter of time.
And sadly even after its cracked they probably wont even remove denuvo, leaving paying players with a worse experience than pirates.

that means it does work as denuvo's purpose is to protect initial sales

Then why does it rarely get removed after a crack apears.
Its just hurting the people that pay.

cause it's contract based, it has nothing to do with cracks

Denuvo sucks yeah, but the performance of this game is stellar regardless. They did a really good job and for anyone that wants to play a good game i'd recommend this any time still.

i care a lot. I wasnt able to play games like AC Origins because Denuvo made the frametimes completely unstable. It degrades the performance of any game it touches.
I Would buy more Games DRM free on GOG, but still a lot of games are not on there.

That is only partially true.
Denuvo can, if not properly implemented, definitely affect a games performance but especially with most recent releases that has not been the case.
It's just the goto scapegoat to use when a game doesn't work properly.
Look at Hogwarts Legacy for example. Or Resident Evil Village. Or Dead Space Remake.
People still to this day blame Denuvo even though it has been confirmed by multiple sources that denuvo is not the cause of the issues these games have/had.

Don't know about AC:O since it ran amazingly well for me but yeah.
I feel like at this point most companies implement Denuvo to put all the blame on it, so they can just sit back, relax and watch people blame denuvo for everything.

Considering this games ratings and the fact that rarely anyone ever complains about optimization I's say it's safe to say that they implemented denuvo correctly.

So yeah if THAT is the reason you don't buy denuvo games you are missing out on a lot of great games for basically no reason.

i will die on that hill. Its a cancer and cannot be tollerated in any way.
And it doesnt even need to be present, games that are selling on GOG are doing just fine without any cancerous DRM.

If performance is your only concern then you don't need to worry because the game runs very well. It didn't experience any frame stutters and it's not too GPU-intensive compared to other games.
On the other hand if you just can't stand Denuvo ideologically... no one can help you, you'll just have to wait and hope they remove it. or the game gets cracked.
Bwob Nov 5, 2023 @ 2:22pm
It's a false debate!
Denuvo does not prevent piracy, Denuvo is already cracked and obsolete...

Umbra,
leave them with their beliefs, they refuse to understand and some even think that we want to play without denuvo, because we'd like to steal their game.... Long live GOG:praisesun:

I'll buy if Denuvo lasts no longer than a year. Even there there's no practical reason to keep it for more than 2 months, when sales are highest. I'll just pretend it's an Epic exclusive and wait. But longer, and i'll stop holding out for hope, and very likely never play it. I'm good both ways. Time for all the greats is the biggest scarcity anyways.

Probably people like me, who don't want to have to be online constantly in order to play an offline single player game. Some of us are in regions locked down to Xfinity, and Xfinity likes to cut internet service at random times at night in order to "do maintenance". I cut back on playing online games and multiplayer games because I got tired of being in dungeons with friends, or playing co-op and multiplayer games, only to lose connection. So I started playing more single player games. Even if the internet cuts out I can use my phone wi-fi to log on, and then turn it back off, and just play my game. Can't do that with Denuvo. You have to stay constantly connected to the internet, and while there's probably some hack or workaround, I don't know it, and I'm not interested in having to use it. I immediately had Lies of P Refunded the second I downloaded it, went to play it , and saw it had Denuvo. Think I had it installed on my computer for all of 3 minutes. I suspect it's sales would have been higher if they just hadn't stuck it in there in the first place.
