Which one to level up, Motivity or Technique for Heavy Weapons
Does Increasing Motivity make a heavy weapon less heavy ?
or
Does Increasing Technique make a heavy weapon quicker?
i thought by having higher Vigor and Capacity would make a heavy weapon less heavier and quicker
My current location, i dont remember, but i just defeated Survivor, King Flame and saved venigni's ass
Vigor = 40
Capacity = 22
Vitality = 8
Motivity = 6
Technique = 14
Advance = 6

General rule #1 is that only level up single damage-affecting stats and you are looking for highest scaling of such stat on a handle (this can be up to S, A being acceptable as single stat scaling).

Ad weight of weapons or gear) No stat makes your gear lighter, less heavier, but increasing Capacity give you higher allowance to use heavier weapons and gear while staying at low load. There is very late-game P-organ upgrade that helps with this but it is locked behind NG+.
Ad weapon attack speed) Weapon attack speed is largely defined by its handle and its accompanying move set. General rule #2 is heavy weapons have slower move set because they hit harder. You can alleviate this issue by combining heavy blade with faster handle. Try to experiment with different handles with blades of your choice.

What Motivity and Technique primarily do is improve damage depending on the handle of weapon. They also increase defensive stats against raw damage and attributes (fire/lightning/acid). Weapon handles determine move set and scaling for weapons and guard strength, blades determine raw damage, damage type (Slash or Piercing), and additional effects (elemental effects and critical hits).

Motivity = Strength
Technique = Dexterity

Therefore, if you really like big slow bonk weapons, you'll want Motivity. If you like katanas and daggers, you'll want Technique. If you want to be based, level Advance.

Generally speaking, of course.

EDIT: One last thing to note. If you still want speed with a massive weapon, look into getting the Frozen Feast boss weapon. It'll still be a while before you get to the boss for it, but think of it like an Ultra Greatsword that increases attack speed on hit. Best of both worlds.

thanks guys
both equally. literally every weapon in the game is a quality weapon, and gets the most damage from equal leveling of tech/motivity. this coming from a guy with a level 300+ character. at all times, ALL weapons are quality weapons. even the ones with A scaling (cant remember if there are any with base S scaling), work best as a quality weapon on all handle upgrade types. do not level just 1 stat.

I mean since there's no "meta level" and after the first NG cycle, quality will most often be best. Even then, Capacity is a lot more important to level up before damage stats in NG. There's only a few that can get S scaling they all require their respective infusements to make S happen. Off the cuff, I believe it's:

Motivity: Noblisse Oblige
Technique:Two Dragons and Etiquette
Advance: Circular Chainsaw and Blacksteel Cutter

These are most ideal choices if you really want to specialise in a stat but even if you go quality, it's still B/C, iirc which is great for quality. Otherwise, every other weapon has D/B or C/C scaling distribution, and you typically want to adjust the stats so they're all C/C

i couldnt disagree more. your equip weight has no effect other than running speed and dodge animation, it dosent actually change your iframes at all, so its a useless stat that can be ignored as long as youre not at 100%.

Is Legion important, King?

meh, not really. drop 30 or so points into it and youll get an extra 1-2 shots on the gunarm, depending on your amulets, and the gunarm is the only one worth using.

The thing that's really cool about this game's weapon system is you can take a motivity (strength) scaling handle, use a technique crank, and have it scale with technique. Of course, a non-native scaling handle won't scale as well but the option is certainly there.

For advance handles, you'll just lose the elemental damage bonus, but you can take a fire dagger and add it to a technique handle and still have an effective moveset.

at launch, it took maybe 30 minutes at most of grinding to get to level 300. 2,000,000 souls will have you sitting at 300-350. post easy mode patch i imagine you could accomplish the same in 10 minutes.
