Ad weight of weapons or gear) No stat makes your gear lighter, less heavier, but increasing Capacity give you higher allowance to use heavier weapons and gear while staying at low load. There is very late-game P-organ upgrade that helps with this but it is locked behind NG+.
Ad weapon attack speed) Weapon attack speed is largely defined by its handle and its accompanying move set. General rule #2 is heavy weapons have slower move set because they hit harder. You can alleviate this issue by combining heavy blade with faster handle. Try to experiment with different handles with blades of your choice.
Motivity = Strength
Technique = Dexterity
Therefore, if you really like big slow bonk weapons, you'll want Motivity. If you like katanas and daggers, you'll want Technique. If you want to be based, level Advance.
Generally speaking, of course.
EDIT: One last thing to note. If you still want speed with a massive weapon, look into getting the Frozen Feast boss weapon. It'll still be a while before you get to the boss for it, but think of it like an Ultra Greatsword that increases attack speed on hit. Best of both worlds.
Motivity: Noblisse Oblige
Technique:Two Dragons and Etiquette
Advance: Circular Chainsaw and Blacksteel Cutter
These are most ideal choices if you really want to specialise in a stat but even if you go quality, it's still B/C, iirc which is great for quality. Otherwise, every other weapon has D/B or C/C scaling distribution, and you typically want to adjust the stats so they're all C/C
For advance handles, you'll just lose the elemental damage bonus, but you can take a fire dagger and add it to a technique handle and still have an effective moveset.
