Anyone else having issues with auto lock on?

The description says it auto locks on a new target when you kill your target, I get there is a range to it but I can have 2 side by side and it wont auto lockon the next after I kill one. Not a huge deal but a little annoying. Yes I know don't own the game, playing on gamepass thanks.

Well that is fine, but I do like it, on games where a selected target is helpful in maneuvering, as I don't like swinging my sword the opposite direction of what I want to hit...so I would like this feature to work and it is not working for me at all.
