I didn't understand one thing about geppetto (spoilers)
From what I understand, the real villain is Geppetto and not Simon, right or wrong? and I didn't really understand if Carlo and Nameless Puppet are practically the same person

can you help me understand

Essentially as the others have said, Carlo is separated. His Ergo ( soul energy more or less ) was awakened by the Blue Fairy. There must be something in regards of difference between the puppet we play as and the First Puppet -- whether that's parts of Carlo's corpse or something in that regard or else all Gepetto would want to use the Arm of God on P's body.

Simon wanted to run an experiment using the Petrification Disease to perfect immortality and push human evolutionary stage for power. The population of Krat was sacrificed to weed out the imperfections of it so VIPs wouldn't have the risks.

The Puppets are said to have targeted those with the Petrification Disease during the frenzy, thus in his own twisted way Gepetto was trying to stop it. He saw a means to immortality and immunity to Petrification through making people into puppets. Thus the ending where the people in the Hotel are killed and replaced by puppets.

Another antagonist would be the Blue Fairy, Sophie, who manipulates time, has the answers already, and actively manipulates the players involved. She knows important things that won't be revealed until it's far too late to go back and make a different choice ( not that the game gives you one ) such as to not attack Romeo.

Both Gepetto and Simon are alchemists who colluded to spread the petrification disease in order to produce Ergo. Simon did it to transcend humanity and build a world without lies, but Gepetto betrayed him by stealing the hand of god and releasing the puppet frenzy in order to resurrect his son, Carlo. Carlo's soul was sealed in P's P-Organ/heart, and was designed to absorb ergo so that eventually Carlo's soul could be put back into a human body. I think the nameless puppet was Geppetto's first attempt at building a body for Carlo's soul, but it was too unstable and was sealed away.
So both Simon and Gepetto, in typical alchemist fashion, were willing to let others suffer to pursue their agenda, which only happened to contradict each other, which I would argue makes both of them villains.

P's ergo is that of Carlo. If you read the record of Romeo, you know that he recognized P as Carlo, and had been using the puppets to reach out to him for help in fighting both the petrification disease and the alchemists; because Carlo's ego hadn't fully awakened in P at the time we fight the King of Puppets, P doesn't recognize his oldest, best friend--this is why the giant "king" model frowns when P slaps his hand away.
if the king of puppets had recognized Carlo in p what would have happened? would Carlo have been bad? apart from Carlo he should be bad if I'm not mistaken

So Carlo would be bad being Geppetto's son or not?
I think Carlo is bad then maybe I'm wrong
