Lies of P
When does this game get hard?
I love the feel of this game as a huge Souls fan. I am a little disappointed in the difficulty curve however. I am certain there's a point where I'll eat my words-but so far it's way too easy. Missing that challenge Souls-Like should have. Just beat Fallen Archbishop Andreus and so far the only hard part of the game has been that awful platforming section I just did.

Was the patch really bad enough to turn the game into the perfect challenge into this uh, pretty easy experience? No way of knowing how I would have fared pre-patch but it's hard to imagine they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with the game THAT much

See how you feel after the Black Rabbits. Twice. Or Romeo. Or Manus.

It'll happen.

Until then, we'll continue to marvel at all the girls your skillz pull to the yard.

Brotherhood was really difficult for me. Romeo I beat first time and same with the swamp monster. From everything I read about those 2 bosses, I was expecting some insane difficulty curve on them. For me they felt like some Souls bosses.

If you aren't using specters and you are soaring through the game then you are just a really good player and it probably won't get much harder for you. If you are using specters then try not using them for a massive spike in difficulty.

Romeo was a two-try for me. Swamp monster was a brick wall for something like fifteen attempts, and then I didn't run into problems again until Wall Guardian.

There are weird spikes and valleys in the difficulty, and they seem to hit different players differently, which is as it should be.

I bristle a lot harder than I should at folks declaring the patch "ez mode" or otherwise extolling difficulty above all else, largely because gatekeeping pisses me right off.

...but I could probably be calmer about expressing that.

Three.
Three bosses.
Got a small HP nerf.

The absolute hysteria has been entertaining and all, but y'all really putting on a masterclass in why no sane person takes Capital-Gs seriously.

You have weird definition of word "small".

And you deliberately skipped the rest of patch notes, so let me repaste those

- Decreased the HP of certain field monsters
- Increased the chance of breaking some monsters' stance and the frequency of stagger
- Increased the staggerable window time
- Decreased the damage of 'Simon Manus, Awakened God'
- Increased the chance to break the stance of 'Simon Manus, Awakened God'"

among other non-nerfing changes.

The game is dumber and easier now.

i hate to break it to you but this game was already dumb and easy and if you think this patch changed that significantly you weren't actually good in the first place. Maybe you should just accept that this patch was actually made for you.
I did Arch Bishop Pre-Patch. He needed a nerf. He was insanely strong relative to his position in the game. Way too early to be as strong as he was. Did King of Puppets and Victor today. I fail to see how Phase 1 of that fight was a danger of any kind even with more HP. He's extremely readable. Phase 2 took a bit but never frustrated me the was Pre-Nerf Bishop did lol. Pre-Nerf Arch Bishop was the hardest fight for me so far.

- Decreased the HP of certain field monsters
It was tedious not hard. Good thing

- Increased the chance of breaking some monsters' stance and the frequency of stagger
No point promoting perfect guard when it's useless and it was. At least it work as intended.

- Increased the staggerable window time
Same as above. Having unexploitable windows was stupid. Doesn't make the game easier. makes it work as intended

- Decreased the damage of 'Simon Manus, Awakened God'
- Increased the chance to break the stance of 'Simon Manus, Awakened God'"
He wasn't the hardest boss and same problem as monsters.

None of these make the game significantly easier.
The hardest parts didn't change.

You can play NG+3 or above. Enemies are sponge and they hit as a truck

It was neither tedious, nor hard (as long as you learnt their moveset, now you don't even have to do that before they are dead).

This needed no changes and is just a change to appease ♥♥♥♥♥♥ players. That's all.

strawman's much ?

Perfect guard was and is an excellent tool. If you or other tourists don't know how to use it, it's on you. Not on the game.

You have tools to instantly stagger enemies in their window, if you are unable (why ?) to do it with your main or secondary weapon.

All of those changes make the game easier and dumber, as you have easier time doing mistakes, eating damage and need less time to interact with enemies.

It was basic boss with easy to learn patterns - of which most repeated with slight differences in p2. His big laser kaboom attack and near aoe was banal to avoid as well.

"It was neither tedious nor hard."

Positioning your subjective experience as an objective observation is not the flex you think it is.

"Strawman's [sic] much?"

That's not what a strawman is. See your bursar about a refund for your Rhet/Comp coursework, because your professor failed to teach you a damn thing.

And if it was me, don't tell me. I don't need another reason to drink.

"Perfect guard was an is an excellent tool. If you or other tourists don't know how to use it, that's on you, not the game."

Elitist "tourist" insult aside, this is fair. The timing's tight, but once you get it down, you're set.

"You have the tools to instantly stagger enemies within their window..."

List them.

Seriously. I've been depending on perfect guards and charged attacks, and I'm on Manus now.

"All those changes made the game easier and dumber..."

Again, conflating subjectivity with objectivity is revelatory, but not of the positive personal qualities you seem to believe it is.

I can use the parry just fine.
I steamrolled NG+3 in a few hours.

There are were many case where bosses would get in stagger state just before a long string of attacks and would get out of state before the end of the string.
Sure there are case where you could use gimmicky items but it doesn't really count.

Don't use Specters. The difficulty will be fine
doesn't even own the game
