PlayStation controller icons on Xbox Game Pass

So as of this new update the game supports DS4 and DualSense icons. However it doesn't seem to be working on the Xbox Game Pass version of the game, from the Xbox app on PC. I'm guessing the Xbox app doesn't natively support non-Xbox controllers whatever.

The workaround that I ended up using was getting the DualSense icons mod from NexusMods, and using DS4Windows to emulate an Xbox 360 controller. Effectively the game thinks it's an Xbox controller but displays PlayStation icons. This works but isn't ideal.

If anyone has a better solution I'm all ears.

About the only thing I can say is expecting a specific platform to support the peripherals of its direct competitor is a recipe for disappointment.

Yeah pretty annoying but it is what it is. Hopefully if anyone else stumbles upon this post with the same issue they can at least use the workaround.

Think im done with game pass now. Between having to restart because i get game could not launch error 1 times out of 2 on every game, late patches, issues with controller support i think im just going to buy my games the old fashion way.

actually you can use playstation controllers on gamepass, Biggest examples are Persona 3 Reload natively supporting PS4 controller input even though it also have controller icon type settings
