It will click, just be willing to give it time. It's most definitely worth the journey
Is Pretty much you play as Intended. :)
However, I would recommend playing Dark Souls 3 as first souls game. If you like it/manage it then go Dark Souls 1 then Sekiro. Then maybe try Lies of P again.
Also another advice, whatever souls game you play go play it blind for the first playthrough. Once you finish it, look up guides as much as you want, but don't ruin your first playthrough of souls game with spoilers and guides. You can only experience the first play once in your life.
and why I don't recommend this one, is way to hard even for souls players, but further then that, it is not very good balanced, specially till the mid to late stages.
I've got some experience with souls-like games, and I can assure you that this one in particular can be quite demanding even for experienced players. The key is patience and practice. If you're really stuck on a boss or enemy encounter, you can summon help, and also buff him once you progress further into the game.
Also I believe, the game has a nice story and is visually quite pleasing, so you sure can find some enjoyment off that too. However if you find yourself getting too frustrated with the game, it's perfectly okay to take a break or even decide not to continue if it's not enjoyable for you. Personally i think it's a really good game, and one of the best souls-like we got recently
Enjoy!
Basically - enemies are designed to be mechanically tough for most people, and then the players "job" if you will, is to learn the moves and leverage whatever they can to win. People say it - but there really isn't a "cheap" way to do things, it is really a "Smarter way" (work smarter not harder).
It is a bit daunting - but do take breaks if your getting to frustrated also. Having played these types of games for 10+ years, they do that - and sometimes a break is just what the mind needs to come back and do much better. Plus, I bet just about everybody took a break during their first game. Demon's Souls had me take at least a 2 week break to finish the first level as my first one.
Refusing to learn and improve means you aren't cut out for these games.
So long as you can sit back and think "Right, what did I do wrong? What do I need to do better?" then you're all good. Who cares if you die even a hundred times to a boss, they can never truly win unless you give up.
Although, this is on the more difficult side of the spectrum when it comes to soulslikes. Dark Souls 1 would be a far better starting point or Elden Ring or whatever else.
Something different these games, that's for sure.
Not sure yet if it's my kinda thing but will play a bit longer. Thanks all!
