If you want to see no dmg runs check Ongbal on youtube dude is crazy good he did all bosses no dmg 9 days ago
Very nice, I'll definitely look him up! Is he by chance on these forums telling everyone they have skill issues? I just subbed to his channel, which is funny because I've seen his videos before pop up in my feed. He is amazing, btw.
I respect your opinion, and I have no issue with your thought process. Just weird to me that the top 5% of skill players with awards and accolades are supporting the changes made in this patch and at least one of them feels it was necessary. I guess we shouldn't be surprised as every "worthy" skill-based game gets balance patches post-release. As long as there is no easy mode and the challenge of the game remains in tact, I have no qualms with balance patching.
Most of us that aren't exactly happy with the changes want to get good by overcoming the hardships. Willing to fight bosses for over an hour to win and have that feeling of accomplishment and reward for roughing it out. That's what "getting good" means.
We're not trying to do no hit runs and whatnot. No disrepct, but, I couldn't care less what a "top souls player" thinks, because we don't play for the same reasons. I'm sure they'll take any advantage they can get to make beating bosses easier i.e. staggered faster and less health because this game is very difficult.
I don't mind some of the changes, but I do mind the hp and stagger changes. There's nothing I can do about it, though.
Different strokes for different folks, I get it. I support some of the area mini-bosses getting less HP and higher ergo/item drop chance, as they aren't meant to be memorable roadblocks to the actual boss. The way they were would have seen the player base drastically decrease over time due to farming to better handle the actual boss fights being an unwinnable slog with no meaningful reward or sense of progression aside from memorization. As people continue to play and engage, they will get better at doing just that. Blooborne mastered this "self-teaching" gameplay aspect. As for the three bosses they focused on with the patch, they all had two phases, only the first phase had an hp reduction, they still hit hard and require skill and perseverance in the first phase, and the real challenge begins in the second phase anyway which was left unchanged.
If the patch makes the game more favorably viewed (fun but still challenging) to many more players, encourages more people to buy and enjoy the game, it increases the likelihood that we get a sequel or spiritual successor from the same developers, that's the nature of the beast.
You get double dodge 1 hour into the game, wdym, lmao
he is supporting it because he is a random no one content creator who tries to grab the attention of the bigger market.
in youtubes case, the casuals. good players dont go on youtube to look up guides for fights, hence the support.
he tries to make a living out of the bad players, lol.
to be fair you get the "git gud" femboys no matter the game or genre. Lords of the Fallen comes out in 2 weeks and I bet you 12 hours after release there will be a git gud post made about something
No offense, but I'd like to know why I should trust your opinion of the guy whos video I posted.
Truth be told he is actually a professional playtester (he actually gets paid to "git gud") and has succeeded in several no hit runs in several games, has won awards for beating challenges, and even beat Cuphead with no-hit. He is literally the top 5% of most skilled players in souls-like/soulsborne games... I'm waiting for your skill award entries.
Cuphead No-hit full playthrough using only the starting weapon, no death all boss run in Sifu, etc. You should check out his videos and entries/awards before saying he is a nobody.
