Slash/Pierce/Crush resistance for enemies

Do anyone checked Slash/Pierce/Crush has penalty toward certain enemies?
In my mind :
Slash is usually good VS flesh.
Crush good vs heavy armored and plated (such as puppet)
Pierce, not sure

Anyone tested with similar attack speed with similar listed DPS weapon stat on enemies about Slash/Crush/Pierce?

I can imagine Pierce would actually be a general purpose thing, besides really *heavy* armored things? Unfortunately, I did notice that Crush doesn't have the usual benefit of ignoring plated parts. The giant corrupted scorpion in Krat Station kind of showed me that, even if I still bashed away since it was big and slow enough to not really do much.

I made a test against Simon (first phase) with 2 very different weapon.

Crystal Axe with Electric Coil Handle (Blunt, 134 phy + 185 acid)
Normal hit around 362
The acid probably deal slightly more damage because listed in wiki acid is weakness (why acid though?)

Black Steel Greatsword (Slash, 142 phy + 184 fire)
Normal hit around 370
He is quite fleshy, probably bonus damage by slash. This deal very slightly higher damage than Crystal Axe., but it also is a higher damage total weapon
