I'm stupid - how bad did I screw up?

So I messed up the 4th(?) riddle and now he's looking for an apple. The problem is, I had already used the apple for a quest. Is there second apple that I am missing or will I just miss out on the last trinity key? Thanks in advance for your help!

Theres only one apple per NG as far as im aware.

So yeah, pretty screwed i think.

Well dang, that seems a little short sighted that the only mulligan item gets used before all the riddles haha. Good thing I like the game, I'll pick it up in NG+. Thanks!

If you've got no compunctions about modding, from what I understand there are already tools out that could let you drop another apple in there. I only dug that up like, on the tail end of being awake last night, but it's somewhere on the Lies of P reddit in the dozen or so 'Second red apple' threads.

I appreciate it. I'm not too worried as NG+ is definitely in the future for me. I was just trying very hard to do everything and that one riddle confused me haha. The Riddler also talked like there could have been a second apple. Being far into the game, I wasn't sure if I just missed it. I tried looking up the wiki and didn't get very far as the game is new.

I gotcha. This was the thing that got me to finally step back from the game from a long while, I got tripped up by the fourth riddle too and when I found out there wasn't another apple, my mood was already kind of borked by how much the Green Puppet had tilted me. The wording didn't help either, it wound me up even more until I found out there just. Isn't another apple.

Still, glad to hear it's clicking enough that NG+ is in the cards for you. Good luck on the second run through!

I will admit, it was a mood killer for me as well for a good 30 minutes haha. Despite the fact that I'll play through it again, missing this by 1 ground my gears. Fortunately, I've been fairly meticulous with everything else so I think I'll end up getting quite a bit of the secrets on the first playthrough. I just finished a 40 minute hunt on one of the ciphers and "lucked out" that I hadn't traded a specific item away that would lock me out of yet another goodie!

The cipher that gives you the fox's outfit - it requires a boss soul to be traded in for the frozen sword[/spoiler[
