Lies of P
For the "omg adjust the perfect parry window" group. Use this...
Since apparently people struggle with understanding game mechanics, and that there is a tool for every build... let me help you all out.

There is already tools that help for increase your perfect parry windows

1: https://liesofp.wiki.fextralife.com/Greatsword+of+Fate+Handle <--- early game available, literally a starting weapon handle

2: https://liesofp.wiki.fextralife.com/Acidic+Great+Curved+Sword+Handle <-- late game

both give a 2 second perfect parry window for 1 Fable. in that 2 second it blocks everything, even red attacks.

Hope you can git gud now, no more excuses for missing those parries.

Great idea... force people to stick to specific weapons to compensate for an overly strict parry timing... thats boderline mandatory to learn since the game is centered around it.

Yeah nah.

Also this. It's so cheesy with the grindstone P-organs (2 uses + increased duration). Not as cheesy as throwables but it's up there to use if you're struggling. Available before the swamp boss I think

Yup. The tools are there. People just complain for the sake of complaining. They refuse to tweak their builds to support their weaknesses. Nope. They want to stick to their horrible "builds", and use that from start to finish.

mindblowing :D
What I see a lot in this forum the past few days is "heavy weapons are bad" and "parry window is bad". I would suggest to maybe use heavy weapons if people mistime parries and hold the block button instead of tapping. There are people that claim that holding the button gets you the full parry window. I don't know if that is true but even if it isn't: You mistime a parry with a heavy weapon, the damage reduction will be higher if you guard than with a dex weapon.
Limited resources don't necessarily carry you through the fight.

what limited resource you talking about? if Fable... that is not a limited resource, very far from it... which you would know, if you understood the games mechanics. Let me quote myself:

I have a recording of the entirety of Nameless Puppet 2nd phase getting murdered from two uses of the perfectionist grindstone + heavy weapon/mine combos, so I don't necessarily agree with that. The whole fight lasted just short of 2m.

So, they carry everyone necessarily through the fight. Cool stuff. :steammocking:

More serious. I rather learn the normal mechanics, not very keen on relying on those temporary buffs, which run out and sometimes need to be replenished with farming or at least at the stargazer. Never liked them... I always felt, they are more for repeated play throughs.

I'm just saying that's not true. You can go watch any video of all bosses no-damage and they abuse throwable a lot to do 75-90% of the fight, especially in the 2nd brotherhood fight. Throwables are also a limited resource.

I didn't deny that, though

As someone who played through the game using only a heavy weapon I can tell you its definitely a skill issue, greatsword is amazing for poke damage as well as parry/blocking while maintaining stamina, pair that with the P organs for guard regen you are basically a walking tank.

Indeed! i am having tremendous fun with the booster glaive! It is not the slowest weapon, but also far from being the fastest! (i do switch weapon here and there, though, for the funsies)

Why shouldn't the game be balanced around any build being able to finish the game? Why should people be forced into using items/weapons/etc they don't want to. I don't like using consumables because it feels like ♥♥♥♥ to waste them, and I HATE grinding in any game. This is such a lazy attitude to have. This isn't a mech game like armored core where you're meant to change your build every mission, this is an RPG where you commit to a build and you should be able to make any build work

It is balanced around that.. it's a trial and error game just like any soulslike. IMO the lazy attitude is complaining rather than improving. There's a lot of options at your disposal if the game is too hard and you just want to get through it. Summons, cube buffs, special grindstone, throwables.
You can parry with ANY weapon in the game, you can dodge with ANY weapon in the game, these are the tools your provided with, damage will always come last to anything else, so yes you can complete the game using any weapon, your skill will determine your millage.
