Question about truth playthrough.

i was following the powerpyx guide somewhat for truth playthrough, had to lie once overall to belle to get the record, still got the truth ending ending

I looked at some of the guide info after I beat the game, and some of it is a little inaccurate which could be a bit frustrating. For example, I had Golden Lie pre-Manus simply by listening to new records as I found them instead of post game, and by lying for the rest of the game. I saw a few guides say this is impossible. However, I did wind up accidentally telling a couple truths, and I was still able to get the Rise of P ending, so I think the game is looking more at your overall movement towards humanity or puppet, and there's an internal point system. You should be able to tell where you're at on the scale by Pinocchio's hair.

all the endings just depend on the final humanity when you choose to give heart or refuse.
give heart: Bad Ending
refuse with not enough humanity (can not hear heart): Good Ending
refuse with enough humanity (can hear your heart): True Ending
you don't need to always lie or tell the truth, not only lies but also sealed records can give you humanity.

Yes thats what i was thinking, after finishing the game its pretty clear this isn't exclusively about lying or telling the truth, but about what amount of "human" actions have you made during the game. Sure, lying is human, but it also is praying in front of the statue in the cathedral, listening to music, or showing that poor puppet in the scrapyard about the human emotions. Im gonna back up my save ust to be sure, but i think i will lie to obtain the record. Thanks guys.

AFAIK, if you don't want the good ending (Raise of P) where you have to lie most of the time to raise your humanity, you just need to choose to let Sophia stay as she is (do NOT choose to give her peace) and you automatically have the "normal" ending, if you refuse to give your heart to Geppetto, or the bad ending, if you give your heart.
