I wound up falling in with the Bramble Curved Sword handle and the Spear of Honor blade, and that seems to be a perfect middle ground of speed, impact, and damage output with good legion abilities to boot. I just wish your hands weren't so tied when it came to designing weapons.
The damage shown on stats is roughly some normalized sort-of-dps value - you can easily test it on a dummy in hotel swapping handles. If you put a big blade on faster one-handed handle it will do less damage per hit but slightly faster swings and vice versa.
Big blades with some slow 2h or pole type handles can do really massive damage in one hit (especially charged heavy).
Another thing good to remember about is that blades have their preferred types (slash vs stab). equal signs denotes "preferred", downward arrow denotes "not preferred". If you for example put a "slash" blade on a "stab" handle there will be some extra damage penalty AFAIK.

also in my case?
This can be kinder good finding.
I still not understand the meaning of that logo.
This can really shine the next time I replay the game with entirely different weapon/build.
I also not aware the weapon tooltips maybe DPS than "per hit".
So important finding too !
TBH - the slash vs stab difference I found in some "N things you didn't know about Lies of P" or similarly named video I found recently.
Oh geez this is great to know. I kept skimming over that info and knew it was important, but it never clicked. Thanks!
