Is there no way to get into the final trinity room without telling the truth?
And is there any downside to telling the truth just this once? Or does failing to lie even once lock you out of the golden lie and rise of p ending?

The puppet, human, yes, no answers won't impact letting you into the last room. It might impact if you get the Golden Lie though. Pretty sure it's just a hidden gauge based on how much you lie or answer like a human. Telling the truth once shouldn't void your run going for it.

wait what? i thought you won't get the chosen one key unless you answer the last "riddle" correctly?

Pretty sure the last riddle is just for that Riddle guys amusement, I've already answered him and I'm pretty sure it was Lie for me though, at least in the riddle guys eyes but it didn't stop me from getting in the room.

You can tell a few truths and still get the Golden Lie. I did and had no issue getting it before the final boss.
