I just found it as well - though for me it was on the couch next to where Mr dog-face is/was.

It seems it continues to rotate just like before.

Theres only one time where the cat leaves the hotel forever is In the good boy ending if you choose to go back to the hotel instead of restarting all the characters the player killed in the hotel are replaced with puppet lookalikes, so its implied that Carlos/Pinocchio might have killed the cat as well or it ran away, not sure I couldn't find any trace of it after exploring hotel after leaving to other areas and returning multiple times.
