Even if you block she drains your HP regardless. Stamina goes down very quickly and you don't have enough to hit her back and you get a window. Rolling eats up to much stamina, even blocking with a shield you loose health. So many things that so far were an issue but I was overlooking but when you get to a point that all those things together makes you just don't progress makes you happy for playing on GP. I wanna buy the game but I'll only do that if they fix the issues the game has. Game is 85 very positive and before I was thinking it was too low for the game. Now I see why many people will most likely abandon the game at some point and never buy it due to having tried on GP and got frustrated due to unbalancing.
I played and beaten all souls games, got stuck various times but never have I thought it was the game's fault. This one tho, I can't say the same.
2+ hours
40+ tries
Doesn't feel like I beat her. It was more luck than skill.
Bad boss. badly balanced.
Unfair broken fight.
This game needs some serious balancing if it wants to get to from software standards.
Been hard is not the point.
A game needs to be challenging and that's another thing.
It's a fine line to walk on that this game is missing but not by that much.
Parry window needs to be a bit higher.
Stamina should recover a little quicker and dodge should not eat that much of it.
Bosses in general need better tells so you know when to parry or dodge.
Bosses also have too much HP and even when you specialize in a weapon, it doesn't feel like you are been rewarded, damage is always relatively low.
This game NEEDS cancel animation.
If you wanna focus the game around parring, you need to be able to cancel an attack to parry an incoming one.
A few other things but those are the majors I can think of right now.
I'm still shaking from the boss fight and that makes me realize something.
When you beat a hard boss in a souls game you feel like you accomplished something.
After beating this boss I feel relieved for not having to fight her again and that's bad cause that prevents people from going into NG+, specially bad when they haven't bought the game yet.
I also don't feel accomplished cause I know that if I had to fight her again I would be stuck 2 more hours, if I get lucky again.
Devs gotta do some tweaking and fast before people move on to the next thing.
Yeah this is in my opinion the hardest fight in the game, took me over 2 hours also.
Use specters. They act as a major distraction to the bosses, especially with the cubes to make them more resilient or more powerful.
Read up on boss weaknesses, in the case of Laxasia it’s ACID. Get your grinder with acid and your specter with acid.
This boss took me 20+ tries but with all of the above it was doable.
The devs don’t need to do anything for fear of people moving on. They already have your money.
Sometimes beating a boss means putting the controller down for a few days and coming back fresh.
The game is balanced as long as you perfect parry boss attack chains of 15+ hits with less parry frames than DS1? Thats what you call balanced?
Wished I got to learn her move set better as I just happen to be beyond aggressive with the specter out
I defeated her 1st phase within 2 minutes.
Since she she is extremely weak to acid, so I used an acid grindstone for the bone blade w/ the dancing handle. I was able to bring 7 pulse charges + 2 wish stone heal charges for the specter into the 2nd phase (who managed to stay alive by the time I killed her)
The 2nd phase I had no idea what was going on (the lock on camera really just struggle her) but her move set does have tells
I found dodging around (towards her on either side) to be the best option when on the ground
She is weaker to acid even more in this stage without her armor, so I focused on throwing my acid canisters at her at the right times
Though funny thing is I had 2 charges of the perfect parry grindstone that I forgot to use lol
And her fake out white stagger is unexpected but since she does it every time - you can just run away from her for a bit (heck even throw even more items at her) and then go in for the punishment
Honestly once you understand that this is Lies of P and not a souls game where you are encourage to use everything in your arsenal (weapons, fable arts, grind stones, throw weapons, guard rally, etc.) - the game just clicks for you and probs why I'm having such a blast with it right now personally
