Level up glitch

I was level 40 then when I tried to level up after reaching area 4 whenever I talk to Sophia it says not enough ergo and I'm level 2 (should be 40). Anyway to fix glitch?

If it's your first playthrough you can't respec until after the chapter 7 boss, so that would be a rough 4 chapters. Respec would probably fix the glitch and refund all the spent ergo.

The game most likely reset your total spent ergo(on leveling), the game still thinks your lv 40, but because you total ergo was wiped it displays your default level, and you probably have a huge ergo debt.
I theory(never had this glitch) the second way requires you to get enough ergo to go from lv 2 to 41.
The cost to level to 41 would actually be the debt + the amount of ergo to upgrade from 40 to 41

The third solution is restoring an older save(go to title screen and paste to old save into the games save folder to bypass cloud sync, then load your old save in game), but it's unlikely you made any backups.
