Which boss = quit the game?
It would be interesting to find where players have reached in the game before quitting. I've got to Fallen Archbishop Andreus and called it a day.

Yeah I don't like its second phase either. I especially don't like how he does a charge attack that requires inhuman reflexes to parry.

Yeppers. The game has too many cheap gotcha moments that immediately feel bad, even on first time. The game is fun when its actually fair. People making challenging action game need to understand the difference between good frustrates and bad frustrates.

Almost give up at Archbishop, beat it just before the patch.

But the "Grand Exhibition" level might be were I give up. So many "Elite" enemy with High HP in that level.. It completely messes up the flow of exploring the level.

What i like in Souls game, it's that it's hard until it's easy. Once you've understood how to beat an enemy, you can do it easily and quickly and continue to explore the level.

In Lies of P, you always go from "super easy" to "hard", just because you meet a "high HP" enemy that can take some time to beat even if you know how to beat him. And with those guys, you're always 1 mistake away from getting stunlocked to death.

I just don't have fun exploring in that level.

Yeah, yeah, i know "git gud". Favorite reply when someone criticizes this game on here.

Green Swamp Monster was the first and only boss to get 10 attempts out of me. ♥♥♥♥ that ♥♥♥♥ boss. By my last attempt I was ready to take a break instead of raging and doing worse. Not looking forward to ever fighting that ♥♥♥♥ boss again in NG+.

Agreed. I feel this game always take it that 1 step too far, going from what should have been "hard & fun" to "hard & frustrating".

tbh unless the enemy in question clearly has some kind of item, I always run past the "elite" enemies. They don't run far and they're not worth the time or possible health tax.

The first play thru of any hard game is always rough. My 1st Sekiro play thru took me 60 hours (with a 6 month gap in the middle), the 2nd was only 20. I then went on the 100% it, which I never though would be possible for me.

I finished this game today, I almost gave up on the last boss, he is tough, but like any game, once you learn his moves, muscle memory kicks in and you get it.

I started a 2nd play thru (NG not NG+) and mobs that gave so much trouble the 1st time are going down in 1 or 2 tries.

If you find yourself getting stuck and discouraged, pause that run, start a fresh run and see how much you have improved, it will give you the confidence to finish the game.

The Grand Exhibition is by far one of the worst levels in the whole game and I wouldn't blame you for giving up at this point. The game doesn't really get better at any point either.

I just got out of Grand Exibition yesterday. Here's something to remember for any Souls Game you play: You don't have to Fight every Enemy Everytime. I found the Area to be pretty easy. Once you see the Hard guys will just respawn over avoid them and focus on the next Shortcut. Always dump your high amounts of Currency. That way if you can't get back to it, who cares? It was 500 souls lol

This is for every Souls-like.

For me and my playstyle it was the Black Rabbit Brotherhood 2nd encounter at the end of the game (felt like quitting over two days). For some reason I had the hardest time fighting these guys and then their big brother. For me he hit like a truck even with half a weapon at the time and seemed to be more relentless than the first time.

It's not a super hard fight but with the low physical def I had and low stamina I was having a bad time. Not to mention I'm not a perfect guard god.

Same here. Took about ten attempts before I got the perfect block timing down consistently.

That "angry toddler tumble" move of his, though, can eat my *entire* ass.

I tried this too. Then I realized dodging is 10x more efficient vs him. Once I started dodging he went down fast. But I do not like gimmicky fights and the instant status effect he applies.

Disagreed. This is true for most Soulslikes, but it's definitely not true for Lies of P for some reasons. First, enemies take forever to lose sight of you. If you encounter a bunch of enemies and don't know what's up ahead, you're risking running into a harder enemy that you can't avoid, and then you have to fight that one AND all the enemies that are still following you. Second, some enemies are faster than you, shoot at you or can use a hook to grab you. Third, some hard enemies drop important items. Once you get far enough in the game, you literally have NO WAY of knowing which ones do, because all of them are extremely hard. I ignored some enemies in the last stretch of the game, then went back to farm because Simon Manus was hard, and discovered I had missed I think two or three quartz. You CAN run from enemies, but that's so much more risky here than in other Soulslikes, to the point it can be just as frutrating as fighting those enemies, maybe even more at times.

it is still true for lies of P, I ended up running past most things on runbacks in the second half of the game without problems, you just go back and do mini bosses once you hit the next stargazer

that's what I did. Never understood when I see streamers getting annoyed because they are trying to take down every enemy and special before they got to the next stargazer. I just ran past those guys.

at the Nameless Puppet i realized, there is no such thing as double K.O. with a boss like in souls games.. there were some bosses where i did them on first try like friggin Simon lol and then i died to mini bosses like the mad clown puppet more than to any other boss
